Best Buy - All Pro Football 2K8 for $5.99

You should have, despite it not being as in-depth as Madden in terms of Franchise and you can only play with the team you create, it's a fun game.
Can't find it online, but I was there yesterday and almost picked it up for this price. Heard it was pretty fun.
This game deserves a lot more love then it has received. It plays an amazing game of football that I still find more realistic and enjoyable than Madden.

There's still a core group of kids that play online, graphics are there, animations...I swear I'm still running across new ones nearly 2 years later.

I'll stop....I'm headed towards the cliff of "Hard-Sell" :whistle2:#

Nice find OP

I was able to get this at my local Best Buy over the summer, only cost me $5, was listed at $9.99 and was on a 50% of clearance table. Didn't play much at all but it actually seemed to be a really solid football game, just got distracted by many other games.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll take a look for it next time I'm at BB.

It's solid and great if you liked ESPN NFL 2K5. The lack of the official NFL licence/teams really, really, really sucks. The entire menu system for the game (main menu, online, etc) is extremely non standard and quite confusing.

If you were raised on Madden, this game will drive you insane. (I had friends throwing their controller within five minutes since the whole system is 180* from Madden.)
I didn't think it would ever break $10.
I picked it up for five last holiday at best buy.

I picked this up for $10 last year at Best Buy and thought it was a decent game and worth it for such a price.

I bought this game when it was a lot more than $5, and I didn't much care for it. That being said, if you are in to football games then it is definitely worth the risk for $5.

Chris

I paid $60 for it and have never regretted it even though it was $30 or $40 like 5 minutes later. Better than the last couple of Maddens IMO.

While I think this game is complete garbage and nowhere near deserving of being hailed as good as NFL 2K5, I'll get it for that price for I can finally 1'k it.

loved 2k5 and this games fun too. Great game to play with friends too. Always loved these games more then madden. I unfortunately bought this years madden and will never buy another madden game ever again.

I got mine at Best Buy on clearance, too. Was like $4.97. I got it because I heard it was made by the same people who made ESPN 2K5 (the best damn football game EVER). DOWN WITH EA AND THEIR DAMN EXCLUSIVE LICENSING AGREEMENTS!!

The license agreement will never end.

Worth getting it for that price. It's a great online game but thin on the single player.

hmm where is it in your best buy? is it with the other games or in a crate off in a corner? cause I can never find the clearance section...only random copies of $9.99 conans...im talking about ps3 btw
how many more years till the exclusive license agreement ends?
I believe the original contract was scheduled to end roughly around this time, but it has already been extended. And as the other poster may have been implying, I would expect EA to maintain its exclusive license as long as it possibly can.

2010. Hopefuly the nfl will not renew with only ea and 2k sports can get back in the game with their football game...

Fingers are crossed but I'm not all that hopeful.

Pretty good game, it was great online when it first released. Not sure about the last year though. A definate pickup for anything less than $10.

I think that was the original deal, but it has been extended until at least 2012.

Exclusive licensing sucks because it gives a monopoly to the license holder. Competition encourages improvement and innovation. EA couldn't handle the fact that 2K was making a better football game for less than half the price of Madden so they got them locked out by getting an exclusive deal. The more football games there are on the market, the better it is for us because it forces the publishers to make a better game every year in order to increase sales. Sure, we may eventually end up with only one football game, but it will be because it is the best damn football game ever and nobody else could keep up and not because the publisher got sneaky and locked everyone else out. Exclusive licensing means we end up with crap like Madden 06 and every Madden title since then.

Well said! :applause: I agree.
I saw this for $2.99 at a local BB a long time ago
wow, you lucky bastard..
If anyone has an extra copy of this, PM me! Couldn't find this in any of the BBs near me....
Me too, I'd really love a new sealed copy of this game for the price listed in the topic but there isn't a best buy around. I've also lost all Ebay auctions so far for cheap because it always ends up going over $10

2K was offered exclusive rights also to the NFL license also.

When I went to pick up RB2 I saw it on a clearance table at $2.99 with a sign that said 50% off the marked price. When I went to the register the refused to give me it for $1.50 even though the sign clearly said off the marked price. I passed for $2.99.

I later picked up Madden 07 for ~$1.50 shipped from Second Spin so it all worked out in the end.

It was a bidding war and Take Two offered more money, yet the NFLPA took less money to go with Madden.

http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/pos...nspired-with-ea-to-cheat-retired-players.html

"Walker sent another e-mail to a Players Inc. attorney that shows they snubbed a larger offer from Take Two to make sure EA nabbed the rights at below-market prices, allowing them to lock down professional football. "The per player price for most of these guys was tens of thousands of dollars less than what they were guaranteed by Take Two Interactive so it’s a real coup that we were able to pull this off so cheaply," he wrote. "You have to remember that EA's total cost is only $200,000 per year. We know that Take Two offered six-figure deals to several former NFL players, so the total cost is millions below market prices."

2k is still better then Madden imho which is sad considering All Pro was a downgrade feature wise of NFL2k5.

Easily worth $5.99.

It's not worth $6 imo, it felt terrible. Whilst Madden does not change that much from year to year, it feels right and is a solid representation. Madden 2008 was superior in form and function.

But as said earlier. If you enjoyed any of the older ESPN titles; this game is a healthy choice. GL finding it tho.

I got it at the TRU clearance long ago @ $9.99.
Grab it if you can find it :)
