Looking for a little advice. I almost forgot that I have a couple copies of GTA IV still and I noticed I have a few other things I could trade with it to take advantage of this promo. Would it be worth it to go ahead & give them GTA, Bully & Timeshift and get the $23 base ... so about ~$35? I got all of these from BBV so I spent right at $20 on them. This is probably the best deal in the immediate future, right?

edit: forgot to mention, but all 360. And I may be looking at a refurb fee on Timeshift. :/

The refurb fee likely wouldnt be too severe. Irregardless, Timeshift is not a game that's going to get you much of anything in trading or selling privately and you have to look at it that even if that game garners a refurb, its still getting you into bonus territory. I think the TIV on it is $3, and thats the most Ive ever seen for a refurb, so you're still getting something for it with the bonuses.

My philosophy is that if I have games I am not playing anymore or do not want to play again or at all, I try to maximize the trade ASAP. The older titles get, they're going to consistently lose value as stated above me.

GTA IV is a bit iffy only from the perspective that when the expansion comes out, many people who had it will re-buy it, but it's not a scenario worth waiting on because its not a guarantee. I got multiple copies during the BBV B1G1, and they helped me score some great GS credit. I still have the copy I got on launch day because I love the game.

Even if there's nothing you want at GS right now (like me), there will be soon undoubtedly and that credit will be useful. If the games are just taking up space, maximize the credit now. I'd only save them if I was stockpiling for a massive trade off.

Hey JP have you ever thought about adding the spoiler button to also the Wii, 360 and PS3 sections too like the old gen stuff ? Seems like it would save alot of time scrolling down forever through all those 360 titles on my iphone when I am looking for Wii TIV or PS3 TIV. ;)

I could just click which system I want and violia !

Just a thought anyways.. though I am probably not the first to bring it up I'm guessing.

If I was to trade in a bunch of crappy PS2 and Xbox games I have sitting around...would I profit or owe them money? (talking about refurb fees..)

They are pretty scratched...And they all have low TIV, like 50 cents - 2 bucks. Old sports games and crap. NFS Underground...

Just curious if it's worth it or if I should just throw them away.

I second xfactors recommendation. That would be much easier when I am checking values on store.

No, it's a $10 credit for every 3 current gen games traded in with a trade in value of over $1.

Sorry if this question has already been answered but can you bring in multiples of 3 and get the bonus for each game or will it only apply to 3 games? I remember a few days ago when i tried trading in 6 games (all over $1 TIV) and the bonus only applied to 3 games. Has GS fixed this problem?

Scored big on the extra $5 per Wii/DS weekly deal. Some changes to TIV's (All before bonus and edge):

:ds: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass $10.00 (up 2.25)
:wii: Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz $ 7.00 (up 1.00)

Odd how Zelda jumped that much, but the used DS/Wii selection was extremely slim. Ended up with $28.70 in credit with edge/bonus.

Thanks for keeping the thread up JP.

GTA V

Everything Wii U

Ocarina of Time - N64

Traded six games at GS today. Updated TIV values are in bold:

:ps3:Warhawk [game only] - $6.00 (down $.75)

:360:Avatar: The Burning Earth - $5.00
:360:LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga - $8.00 (up $3.00) - very surprised about this one considering I didn't have original box art or the manual
:360:TNA Impact - $12.00 (up $1.00) - makes me never want to buy a game at full price ever again
:360:PGR4 - $7.00
:360:Scene It [game only] - $6.00

Total for all game after EDGE and Promo was $68.44. Using this tread, I calculated somewhere around $65, so I was quite happy with the results. Now I'm just waiting for some kind of 25% used 360/PS3 games coupon.

It seems a lot of trade-in prices have gone up for Wii games. I'm attributing this to the B2G1 sale a week ago or so wiping out the Wii sections in most stores (and GS adjusts trade-in prices weekly based on company-wide stock).

The following are all up $1 or more (1/10/09):

:wii:
Cocoto Magic Circus - $3
Jumper - $3
Octomania - $3

Also, unrelated:
:ps3: Armored Core 4 - $7

The nice thing about those Wii games is that I got them dirt cheap at Blockbuster and due to them being (I thought) $2 or less at GS I figured I'd only be able to do the 3/$10 deal. But since they are $3 they qualify for the $5 per game DS/Wii coupon. As a result I got $8.30 for each of them instead of $5.54!

Io, I bought all of those crappy 6.99 Wii games wanting to keep them. But.. now they qualify for that coupon I'm thinking of getting rid of them. 8.50 per crap-game sounds good to me

That makes sense. Sega Superstars Tennis went from $5 to $6 when I traded it in yesterday.

Well, even if you get a refurb fee you'll automatically be making more with having something that just throwing them away and having nothing. Donate them to Goodwill if you're going to just throw them away anyway.

I support Rozz 100%.

Dunno if these have been listed or not:

:360:

Gears of War 2 - $28

:ps3:

Bourne Conspiracy - $10
Lego Star Wars - $5

All base trade-in values. After my Edge bump & the extra $10, I got $57 towards a Killzone 2 preorder. :)

Yeah, a lot of recent quotes here the last few days indicate a lot of jumps in the prices of Wii games - see the quote at the bottom of this post for even more!

Io, I bought all of those crappy 6.99 Wii games wanting to keep them. But.. now they qualify for that coupon I'm thinking of getting rid of them. 8.50 per crap-game sounds good to me

Hah - there are much better games to keep, so trade those in NOW! (Though I am keeping an Octomania I bought, actually, at $9.99 without the B1G1).

TIV from tonight
Wii
Nights - $6
Ninja Reflex - $5
Sega Superstars Tennis - $6
Spiderwick Chronicles - $6
MLB PowerPros 2008 - $12
Legend of Spyro - $7
Sonic & the Secret of the Rings - $7
Sonic Riders Zero Gravity - $9
Scarface - $9
Battle of the Bands - $5

A lot of jumps here! Nights up $1, SST up $1, Spyro up $2, Sonic Secret Rings up $1, Sonic Riders up $1. The one exception was Spiderwick which went down $2 (could have been a price drop on the used sales price there - not sure).

I hope that Ninja Gaiden II TIV of $12 stays true so I can get 1 to flip with this deal and 1 to keep.

edit: I meant at the BB ad price of $9.99, for the record.
