Increased competition from GoGamer and Lion Games didn't stop Play-Asia from winning Best Independent Online Retailer two years in a row.
Consistent weekly deals, seasonal sales/contests, great service, and coupons with every order secured the victory for the Hong Kong based specialty retailer.

A Play-Asia.com spokesperson responded to news of their Cheapy Award with this statement:

Play Asia for getting Lego Batman on the 360 for 19.99. That made an awesome Christmas gift for my best friend. Hopefully they will get the nod from the cag community for there awesome prices and fast shipping.
 
have to say gogamer.com for me. those 48 hour sales they have (that actually last 4 days???) treated me very well this christmas
 
Play Asia. For a "small" import site, they have big time levels of customer service, decent regular deals/sales, great selection and more. Good job again guys.
 
Finally we get some votes for something. Nice! :) I'm a little curious though...what qualifies us as independent? is that CAG code for small?

And if GameStop is so bad why are they so big? If we agree they stink why not shop at GoGamer? Come on fellas! We bring you deals every chance we get. Help us continue to do that in 2009!
