Amazon - God Hand PS2 $15.49 (Update2)

Best Buy has it for $10 if you can find it at your Best Buy. All 4 of the Best Buys I've been to recently had at least 5 copies. I couldn't believe it.

The game looked unfinished, but for a 3D Brawler it turned out to have a pretty decent fighting engine. I picked it up way back when it originally dropped to 19.99. It had a lot of style and character but it could be rather unforgiving.

OMG, everyone with a great sense of humor and who likes challenging street brawlers NEEDS to snag this game.

Yes, it is very unforgiving; but I found it to be less frustrating than the DMC series.

A must-own for PS2 owners.

Also, throw this one in your order to get FSSS: The Red Star

Yeah I worked it out after seeing it in Amazon posts like 3 minutes later. There's so many abbreviations online, and several are very specific to what you're doing/into.

JMM, DLH, UD12, KOBY9, JCC, RJJ, PBF, all these mean something to boxing fans. Can you figure any of them out?

God Hand is the greatest Video Game of all time... if you don't buy it at this crazy low low price... then you shouldn't play Video Games anymore.

lol.

i had this game but found it too frustrating. granted it's a brawler, but after time, i just couldn't get into it.

This game is great. One of the last FUN games on the PS2.

I really cant believe it still costs as much as it does though. I would have thought by now it would be in the $5-10 range.
So should I get God Hand at this price? And what is the Red Star?
The Red Star is a fantastic blend of a brawler (eg. Streets of Rage) and an overhead shooter (eg. Commandos) with an upgrade system, a combo system, co-op play, and loads (read: more than 20) big bosses.

The game came out on the PS2 not long after the PS3 came out--it had been in development for quite some time, and almost died because it couldn't find a reliable publisher. Finally, it got scooped up and put on shelves for a budget price, despite the fact that it's--hands down--one of the best PS2 games out there.

I've spent hours playing The Red Star with a number of my pals, and I still love it.

Agreed on both points. I buy cheap copies whenever I find them to give as gifts, but cheap copies are rare still.
It's actually going for $9.97 at Amazon right now. Jump in!
Whoa, it is $9.99. It's 350 points on Goozex. I think I might snag this one.

Guess they're matching the BB price?

Got this game for ~$8-$10 when circuit city clearanced them out ages ago. I could see why so many people like this game, it was a rather interesting brawler. But much to my suprise, turns out I don't like brawlers! so... flipped this on goozex. $10 is a good deal if you have any interest in fighters.

It's a pretty damn fun and enjoyable game.

Also, if you're a fan of Fist of the North Star/Hokuto no Ken, I would definitely recommend getting this as this game is clearly inspired by the series.

Ahh what the hell, I'd at least like to see why this game divides gamers so much, so I'll give it a try at $10. I also put Manhunt 2 PSP into the card for $10 as well, and Turbotax, which is on sale today, to push me over the edge to fsss.
isn't it really hard? it looked crazy challenging and repetitive from some of the gameplay vids i've seen
I thought it would be too difficult but it's not as long as you spend your upgrade points and up your abilities(or whatever it's called, it's been a while). There are some basic moves that require the left stick but it's not difficult to get a handle on the controls. You will get your ass handed to you but it just makes you want to come back and do more damage. Kickass game and addictive as hell. Just be sure to level up(you have to do it manually).

Oh and there are some graphical issues with see-thru walls and such. I think they put most of the ps2's processing power into the character models which look very good. Ignore the scenery and focus on the combat, that's where it's at.

You should see some of the stuff the escorts around Las Vegas use. BBBJTCW/S, CBJTC, DATY, and more...it's damn funny.

Well, I liked God Hand but I can see why many people may not. Your character moves like a tank so think RE control scheme from a 3-D perspective. Also, the fights can get very long -- and if your thumbs and fingers aren't prepared for the beating, well, I assure you they won't last too long before you'll have to put the game down for a while.

That said, I very much enjoyed this gem. It's one of the last games that Clover put out there before Capcom shut 'em down. It also was one of Shinji Mikami's last games w/ Capcom (don't quote me on that, though).

Be warned, the Japanese humor is very blunt so this title rarely (if ever) takes itself seriously. The characters are all very likable (even some of the bad guys). Being a Clover fan, I paid $20 for this at BB a long time ago and loved it. Many of my friends, however, don't enjoy it.

IMHO, you'll like this game if you can get passed the bad camera, slow movement, and some of the distasteful (or silly or needless or all of the above) jokes.

This game is one of the best games I have ever played. I love, love, LOVE me some God Hand!

I can only hope that MadWorld is HALF as good as God Hand...

For those who don't know, the see through walls were part of the game's design...this way you "peek" into a room without going in, so when you did you go in, you already had a strat in mind.

What the heck!

I bought this game earlier today when the price was at $15. Now I come home from work to check up on any deals before hitting the sack and I see it went down to $10.

Never going to impulse buy from amazon again.

cancel and rebuy...unless it's shipped already

Yeah, it shipped. Since I did it early, it pretty much shipped the next hour or so, and since they don't do price adjustments anymore, I'm screwed.

Because of the price dropping I thought I should bite. Then I realized I needed $25 on my order so I stuck Katamari in my cart as well. Still wasn't at $25 yet and that's when I realized that THIS SITE IS MAKING ME SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY!!!!

haha I love it though. I don't need any more games right now, CAG. I'm taking a stand right now! (until the next good deal I see, and then I'll rationalize it by telling myself that I didn't bite on this one)
