I guess the Deal of the Day isn't all shovelware crap.

Not bad, but there's supposed to be price drop in the next few months anyway.

Check out the Gold Box. 10 am has a clue, "Snake doesn't bother with walkie talkies."

Makes me wonder if MGS4 is going to be on sale for $30 along with the PS3 DotD.

It's probably the MGS4 bluetooth headset.

Great deal btw, maybe this is a sign that Sony actually will have a price drop in the Spring.

My secret sauce says $199.99 3 days after the $299.99 price drop.

btw, i THINK that if you signed up for that amazon.com deal a while back, this might be a valid purchase... sooo

you will have a system for

350-150 = 200 flat

Also, if u sign up for sony rewards, you can make an additional $40 easily (which can be applied to purchase of the PS3)

do you'd get it for 160

niiiice

Between this and that $50 giftcard offer at Walmart on the system, there's got to be at least a $50 price drop in the near future.

yup, 100 dollars seems way too much of a drop for a system that theyre currently already selling at a lost.
And with their current financial state Im sure it wouldnt make the shareholders too happy.

$300 or less. I know Sony's situation sucks but since mine will be mainly blu-ray movies I can't justify more then that.

Yeah, but Dell also charges tax depending on what state you're in.

A $50 price drop is coming to the 80 Gb which will be paired with a game for $349.99 and $100 price drop for the 160 with Uncharted still the game for $399. This won't happen until April but Sony needs to be more competive in the console market and this is one of the only ways.

If you get this deal don't forget Amazon is also offering 5 free Blu Rays w/ purchase of a PS3 or Blu Ray player.

Combine the blu ray deal & no tax and this looks a little better then the Dell deal.

Well, there are people who bought their first PS2 when it was $129 and was the slim version. Thats years after it made its debut.

Unfortunately, the "5 free blu-rays" deal that Amazon is advertising is misleading - it isn't just 5 free for buying a player or PS3. Instead, you get buy-one-get-one free on select blu-rays (Sony releases) up to five total. And the list of titles and their prices is unfortunately kind of meh.

If it had actually been buy-a-PS3-and-get-5-free-blu-rays, I'd have been out there in a second. . .

Yeah... they changed it. You actually need to use the damn thing to get credit now. It's in another thread.

Meh, still too much.

I want a PS3, but can't justify the entry price.

If you only need a blu-ray player, then buy a standalone. I'm sure you can find one for $300. Otherwise, I don't see what you're trying to say. That you're unwilling to pay extra $50 to be able to play some of the awesome games that are available for the PS3?

I have 10k plus sony rewards points now (100 bucks). Hopefully the price drop to 300 happens, then I can buy it for 300-200 and sell my current blu ray player to make up some of the difference.
