Hey Ladies and Gents,

Please forgive me if I placed this in the wrong forum, OPs please move it in the right forum if needs to.

I'm originally from Houston, TX and made the move to Las Vegas, NV about 7 years ago. Really an eye opening and life changing experience but I just grown tired of it due to the social and economical situation. Vegas is a hell of a place to visit but to live here is whole different story.

Now I'm in the process of moving either to Seattle, Denver, or back home, Houston. After talking to my friends and family there they assured me that everything fine back in Houston, TX. Jobs are still out there, not as plentiful but a hell alot better than Las Vegas and the atmosphere haven't changed one bit even with this recession in place (Let not argue about that fact). But these are the very same friends and family whom are doing everything they can to get me to move back home.

I just would like to know from established and new residents of Houston, whats going to be like if I do decide to go back home? Can I find a job? Whats the apt / condo / housing market look like? Have public transportation have changed for the better? Have the crime rate spiked over the years? Stuff like that. So any considerate replies are greatly appreciated as it will be a key factor for me to decide on my next move.

One more thing, I'm in the IT industry. So any IT professionals in Houston, please give me your honest input of the IT job market.

Sincerely,
Victor

PS: If anyone considering moving to Las Vegas, NV; let me know i can give you some real insight of what is really like to be out here 24/7.

damn you make vegas sound like hell. what's wrong with it (other than the value of homes dropping more than any other city)?
