Some info:
Wacky side-scrolling beat ‘em up — Play as Gen-san as he hammers away at corporate evil across Japan and the world in this vibrant, action-packed platformer. The comic adventure unfolds fully-voiced in English and Japanese.

Be more than a hammerin’ hero — Choose from a variety of jobs, including sushi chef, baseball player, and diver, to give Gen different costumes and attacks as he fights through 12 crazy stages. Along the way, make allies in battle, collect loads of items, and even unlock two more playable characters!

Ad-hoc multiplayer — 2 players can play together and compete for the best score on each level over ad-hoc wireless play. Why hammer alone when you can hammer with a friend?

I once downloaded this demo a while ago and found it a lot of fun (too bad I can't locate that demo). After finding out Atlus was releasing this stateside (at the price of $29.99), I got pretty excited. Definitely a fun side-scrolling game.

You'll have to find the demo for me, I'd like to check this game out. It looks pretty awesome, Atlus has some really interesting games coming out for the PSP (and DS.)

I checked out the "demo" (it was really short) but I was able to get a feel for the gameplay, I get a Mega Man Powered Up feel from it.

Also, I saw Gamestop will have a pre-order bonus, not sure if any other retailers will:

I tried the demo as well and I thought it was a pretty useless game.

I went on a demo downloading binge and Yuusha no Kuse no Namaikida was so much more awesome. I need to get to Yuusha 30 and Patapon 2.

Hardcore Gaming 101 just did an article highlighting the Hammerin' Harry series.

They also cover the new game, which isn't sounding so good :whistle2:(

This is by far the most ambitious, most inspired entry in the series, but there's one major problem - the action itself is slow and sluggish. Compared to the blazing fast pace of the arcade games - or even the slower pace of the Gameboy titles - Hammerin Hero feels remarkably sluggish. It doesn't help that it's also filled with tons of slowdown. It doesn't ruin the game, but it does keep it from nesting alongside other high-quality PSP sidescrollers like Dracula X Chronicles, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, and Prinny.

If anything, I'll wait until this hits $20.

The trailer reminded me a lot of Mystical Ninja's Goemon's Great Adventure. I might pick this up for the figurines and it seems like one of those titles most wouldn't give a chance.

i already finished the japanese version, it's been out since last year. a true old-skool feel with a modern look, definitely a must-buy for retro gamers who own a PSP

The demo is really fun. The figurines are cheesy with the preorder. I'll wait till it drops in price some. Atlus games usually have limited production tho.

Has anyone played Prinny? How is the difficulty compared to the Prinny game?

I have been a player since the original NES so I can appreciate an old-school challenge, but I prefer it not be ridiculous (liek the harder modes of Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry).
