What do you play most besides DS, anything?

I notice that a lot of DS posters here seem mostly excited about DS games, possibly only DS games. Nothing wrong with that, just interesting. So does anyone here actually play only the DS? What else do you play and to what extent?

For me its the opposite. I bought my DS and games then barely ever touched it for over 2 years, now I'm finally using it and the more I use it the more I like it.

I have both a Wii and 360, as well as a catalogue of older systems and games, but I mostly only play DS. I just seem to get more enjoyment out of it, and I don't spend very much time at home, so I'm usually playing it when I'm not a home.

360 is main gaming console, DS I play at night while my wife sleeps, and only play the Wii when I want to feel like the $250 I spent on it wasn't a waste.

I use my PC or Xbox for my main gaming needs. However, I do love to play my DS whenever I'm on the road, in bed, or on the toilet.

The DS has made my toilet adventures quite fun.

Cheers.

Seeing as i have little time, my games are not getting sufficient love. Right now I am doing xbox when i can, with a bit of PSP and DS when im travelling

My DS seems to always get most of the gaming attention when I'm outside the home. I've been slowly chipping away at Chrono Trigger and I have GTA: Chinatown Wars waiting for me.

The PSP is relegated to movie watching which isn't exactly a bad thing. (I discovered a used Oldboy UMD at a distant GS and that flick now ranks in my personal top 3 movies of all time.)

My PS3 and 360 receive the majority of my gaming time though.

I usually get a kick on one system at a time. haha

Right now I'm playing Animal Crossing, MadWorld, and Kororinpa on Wii,
Locoroco 2 and Hot Shots Golf OT 2 on PSP, and nothing atm on my PS3 or 360.

My backlog taunts me. :(

Mine is..
DS->PC->PS3->Wii

With the primary PC one being WoW, and DS being Yoshi but the DS probably wins it by default since its the newest for me.

Mostly play shooters and WRPGs on the 360.

Hardly touched my DS the past couple of years. Don't like JRPGs, text adventures or casual games and most of the good games on the DS lately have been in those genres.

Recently I just play DS and a little PS2.

I don't have a long attention span for games right now. So games like Tetris or Taiko Drum Master are good.

I've been playing WoW lately with some friends and play my PS3 when I'm not on that. The DS gets used on trips and sometimes before bed.

I never play my DS...maybe like once or twice a year. It just sucks so much...small screens where playing over 30 minutes can cause eye strain, the use of the stylus for some games makes it harder to use on trips in a bumpy vehicle, and obviously the graphics pale in comparison to consoles. Why people choose to play on a 3 inch screen (or whatever it is) rather than playing a console or PC when at home and its all available, got no idea. The only thing handhelds were ever good for was for trips, which the DS is now only decent for, and for before bed, where many now have consoles in their rooms instead.

For me its probably right now 360-->PC-->PS2/Wii-->Solitaire-->Gammon------->DS

For me back when I did play it fairly regularly it was because it was one of the few places to get good, new 2D games--NSMB, Kirby, the first couple Castlevnia games, etc. etc.

Not much of that on the consoles. But yeah, otherwise I'd much rather game on my 50" TV with modern HD graphics etc.

There are tons of DS-only games, so I don't understand the comparison to consoles, really. Sure, if you are talking about a game that is cross-platform and available on consoles too, I'd probably prefer the console version. Then again I might not seeing how I commute to work on train & bus and have a lot more time for portable gaming then console gaming. However, I tend to shy away from such games in the first place because I figure the DS version will stink in comparison. I tend to stick with games explicitly designed for the DS. Plus, I too like 2D games. Indeed, as far as platformers go, I massively prefer 2D - I want to play a game, not a camera.

Having said all that... my main portable gaming platform these days is my iPod touch. The games are ridiculously inexpensive and there are good ones among the dreck. Plus you can spend massive amounts of time just trying out "Lite" versions and playing free games (and again there are good ones). Also the fact that I always have my iPod with me is a big factor too - my DS doesn't get nearly as much play now. , I on an off again consider selling it, but I haven't quite been able to divorce myself from it. There are games on the DS I love and games I'm looking forward too, such as the new Zelda game.

I don't think it was really a comparison to consoles so much as a "when at home why would you play a portable over a console?" which I can see. I think everyone gets the appeal of gaming on the go for people who have a public transit commute etc.

For me, it's about equal between the DS and Wii. It's the same for my kids, from what I've seen. All of us also play games on the PC, but not near as often as the DS/Wii. That might change for me if I get a computer that's anywhere near current specs...or even specs from 5 years ago.

I played my GBA more than the DS when I owned it, and everything else even more. Sorry, but crappy 64MB games just don't cut it for me anymore given where every other system is.

Peggle and Retro game Challenge (both 64mb) are not crappy games.

Ya I think thats part of what it is too. As a kid the GBA was a lot of fun even though I didn't own one. I mean, all there was to compare it to was N64 with equally crappy 3D graphics or SNES with something similar. Basically the consoles enhanced 100x, and handhelds 2x

If you were around when the original GB launched and the next 10 years, the current portables feel enhanced 1000x. Even despite that I do feel like PSP and DS are as much as a jump from gba as the current consoles are from last generation.

I play my DSL the most. Been playing couple of old GBA games lately. Haven't touched my PS3 in about 4 months now (Other than using it for BD). I just started getting back into my Wii now since the new update. Been playing MKW 2nd time around since I played it nonstop when it came out and became a pro at it. After getting bored of it the 1st time, I didn't play it for about half a year. Also playing Bomberman Blast that I got yesturday with the family.

Used to 360 alot, but I hate paying for Live to play with 8 year old retards so my PS2 w/ HD and PSP took over that one. Personally I prefer PSP solely because i'm not limited to playing at my own home w/ a TV.

I have a PSP/DS Lite/Xbox 360 and PS3.

I'm mainly playing my DS and PS3 these days but a few months ago I was on the 360 more.

Almost done playing Dragon Quest V and just beat Resident Evil 5. Might play Avalon Code or Suikoden Tierkreis afterwards. Though I have a ton of games on backlog thanks to this site..lol. I think that is the case with many of us roaming thru here for deals though. :D

i play my ps3 more than the ds. i use it when i want a quick game thats not too involved or on a long trip somthing to waste time with if youre waiting on someone. its that extra gaming option you can pick up when yu have the time and not feel like you have to beat anything. i think for anyone who has a ps3 or xbox thats probably the role it plays. still feel like i should beat pokemon diamond.

(Just going to pretend you said DS/GBA in title)

As I'm a cheap bastard I always stay one full generation behind the latest technology, usually picking up my hardware second-hand or occasionally new if it's heavily discounted (sometimes given for free too) a few months after the latest generation has been released.

Means I have a massive backlog of kickass games all for less than a tenner.

Pc - Main machine, usually manage to get 6 hrs a week in. Currently playing Stalker SOC (badass game).

Xbox (classic) - Retro 2D fighters (street fighter, king of fighters, etc) with friends. Occasionally the odd - third person, hate fps on pad - adventure.

Gameboy Micro - for the bus, train, plane & general waiting around. The fact that I have been going to bed early to play is a testament to how good the games are!
