I was wondeing, Ebgames has the trade in deal for Halo2. Trade in 5 games and so on, and you get a voucher for Halo 2. I've been wondeing if I can take advantage of this withthe Gamestop deal 3 for 2.

They have exclusion lists for what you Can't trade in. The lists are here for ps2, here for X-box. and here for Gamecube If you get excluded it sucks. At most they'll give you a few quarters for the game, but they charge you $2 for their trouble. So, if you send in a game and they exclude you, then you're looking at about a charge of anywhere between $2-$9. Which sucks. So it makes me hesitant to send ANYTHING. What if they exclude it even if it's not on the list.

The reason I bring this all up is that I noticed that they sell Amped for $8 at Gamestop. My local Gamestop has around 4 copies. This game isn't on the excluded list. So, I was thinking of using the 2 for 3, and buying 3 copies for $16. Then I also have a copy of Unreal Championship. if I trade it in it's worth $4 bucks. It's not on the excluded list. So I'd rather use it for Halo 2. Unfortunetly, my extra copy of Alter Echo is excluded. I'll need to scrounge up another game to trade in.

Outlaw Vollyball for Xbox is also not on the excluded list, but none of my Gamestops have it. Gamestop sells that for $5. Ebgames sells it for $18! So I doubt it's excluded. They sell amped for $13. If you can find a gamestop with a lot of those outlaw vollyballs, you could probably spend around $10 and you're be more than halfway to Halo 2.

But I'm concerned, because what if they exclude something not on the excluded list. Then you're screwed. Amped may not be listed, but if I buy a couple copies, send it in, and they charge me $3 bucks I'm out $18 for nothing! And how was I to know!

Anyway, any advice? Because conceivably I could bag Halo 2 for around $25.

Your probably better off trading in your stuff in at a brick & mortar EB store (if it's possible). You'll get an additional $5 for every next gen game you turn in.

But if you want a cheap game that isn't on EB's exclusion list, hit the local best buy and look for Superman: Shadow of Apokolips ($5) or Jurrasic Park: Operation Genesis ($10)

If you trade in halo (the first one) you get halo 2 for 30 bucks...pretty good...or you can trade ninja gaiden to get halo 2 free

Right. But the trade in states "except for football, baseball, basketball, hockey, wrestling and soccer titles" Technically those aren't one of those categories. But I've never traded anything in at EBgames before. That's why I wanted to ask first, if they're real sticklers about stuff like that.

Also, that extra $5. Don;t you need a coupon from out of the GMR magazine for that?

I didn't need a coupon, the employee at the register rung the games up and informed me that the value is higher because of the current deal they have running.

In any case I think most EB employees will hook you up with the extra $5 per game if you ask them.

How about getting Halo 2 for $15, and getting another used game (worth $30 or less- like PGR2, Crimson Skies, Counter Strike, DOA Volleyball, etc.) for $10? That's what I did.
Here's how you can do it- it's a little complex:
1a. IGN Gamestore (gamestore.ign.com) has buy a used game $30+ get a free game $30- (We'll use PG2 as an example) for FREE this weekend only (ends Sunday).
1b. EB has a deal that if you trade in Ninja Gaiden before May 31 you will get Halo 2 for $15- with a coupon. So, I would get the coupon this week & put it in my Ninja Gaiden box for when I trade it in.
2. Go to the IGN Store and order Ninja Gaiden ($45) and any other used game $30 and less. At the check out put in the code "IGN2FOR1" and you'll get (PGR2) for FREE. Total cost (out of pocket) is $45, so far.
3. Play Ninja Gaiden until May 31 & trade it in for $35 toward Halo 2. Total cost for (PGR2) is $10 ($45-$35=$10) now....and put the remainding $15 needed for Halo 2 down and thus you just bought Halo 2 for only $15 new and (PGR2- or any other $30 or less used game) for $10!

Do the math......It works & you get to have an early Merry Christmas!!

Cool Idea. I might just buy 2 copies of NG. One to keep and one to trade in in case I really like it. Either way it would come out to $31 for each. $47 for the two games plus shipping and $15 for the Halo 2 Remainder. But honestly I don't know if I want to get NG. I'll at least have to sleep on it.

More like you don't know if you want to give up Ninja Gaiden

That plan doesn't work.

It would cost $60 for Halo 2 and PGR2 or whatever game you want.

You're spending $45 for NG + $15 for Halo 2 = $60.
