I like three games on that list, and I already own them. I was interested in Quantum of Solace, but the GameTrailers review pushed me away. It was repeated that this game doesn't make you feel like you're playing as James Bond.

No gadgets, plus the multiplayer is very generic.

Picked it up for $24.99 new during the big BBV clearance last month.

If you don't mind used then use the 20% coupon at Gamestop this week. Without the edge card, it's $21 and with it it's $18. That's what I'm going to be doing. $27 is not a sale price.

The CAG Dads group officially endorses any retailer that offers discount video games for Father's Day. Do not give us crappy neck ties, boring joke books, or stupid golf junk. We want GAMES!

The second I saw the sale was PS3 only, I hoped and hoped someone would comment on the absence of 360 games just for that comment.

I actually really liked 007. The mechanics are reminiscent of 007 Goldeneye. No gadgets but there is a lot of sneaking possible (though you can run and gun if you want) and I liked the cover system. I MUCH prefer 007 to COD4. Online MP is better than COD4 because it is somewhat more tactical.

Most 14-18 year olds don't have kids. In my engineering dept I know five PS3 dads and no 360 owners, of course we are over 30.
 
How much is the PS3 selling for?

It says to see price in cart. Is the lower price a significant deviation from the MSRP?

I went ahead and bought it because I figured I can spend 20 hours on it (I like to get my games down to 1 dollar per hour.).

There was actually a study that supported this. Not gonna look it up but PS3 had a bit older audience (around 25+ and up I believe) while 360 was more centered around 13-21 or soemthing.
 
FFS, people. There are 5 Sundays between now and father's day.

Quit bitching that it's an exclusive sale - be happy that it has semi-tempting prices, and otherwise shut the fuck up. Are y'all really dense enough to think there won't be further Father's Day sales on games from Amazon?

Christ, who would have thought low prices would piss people off? fuckin' grow up.
 
Thought about finally biting on GTA IV, but since I just bought Saint's Row 2 in the recent Amazon DotD, guess I'll wait for the $20 price point / the inevitable re-release with slightly more content.

The multiplayer is actually pretty good, i should put more time into it, and why would there be gadgets in the game if the rebooted movie series does not?

Actually the MP in the game let's you buy gadget add-ons for your guy, not the SP though, you shouldve gotten it at the best buy 10 dollar sale, which is where i got it.
As a lover of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, it's a gem.

You know you could get GTAIV used from Blockbuster for $15, right? They also pretty much keep most coverart/manuals/original cases at MANY BBV stores anymore too so you can get it complete for 50% off this sale just about.

As for me, I was considering COD4:GOTY till I read that the 'extras' it came with no longer come with the game and the fact that this deal isn't more than $5 off retail(at Gamestop).

I wonder how long it would've taken for a game or two from this sale to get here though, since Amazon opened a fulfillment center about 35-40 miles from me about 2 years or so ago.

You can also get it from Sears for $20 or so if your Sears has it in stock. I may actually blow through my copy on normal once I get my PS3 back this week and then sell my copy. It's a great game and the first FPS to get me back into the genre in a LOOOOOOONG time.
 
Damn no NES games! I was totally going to buy my dad some games...

Haha my parents think the whole console revolution stopped when the SNES came out. They just play Tetris and Marios on the NES and have a SNES for the grandkids. Oh yea and my moms DS I bought her which nobody is allowed to touch but her. haha

If you want to get 100% trophies on 007 QOS, you will easily spend 20 hours on it. I am still playing MP to this day after getting 100%. Currently my fav MP game.

Just the opposite at my company, then. I know 10 360 owners, several of which are over 40 (pretty sure one is at least 50, but I'm not asking him) and the only two PS3 owners I know are under 30. But I will say that all 12 are fathers.
 
The price for Major League Baseball 2k9 is wrong. It's 39.97. I know it's a bad game, but I'll still pick it up because the cover player is Lincecum.

I hope we do see a 360 deal like this soon. For the doubter on the fence about BioShock, more than worth it at twice the price. I have it for the 360, only actually played it recently, and it is far and away one of the best unique experiences I've had in gaming since Portal. This isn't to say they're alike, only that where Portal wowed me with it's inventive play and witty humor, so did Bio wow me with it's immersive world and enthralling atmosphere. At this price, I really think you can't go wrong.

Fathers day is a month away that's plenty of time for a 360, Wii, PC and DS sale calm down people or buy them all and win the console war.
 
If they're doing a 'Father's Day Sale' this far away from Father's Day..

You can pretty much Guarantee there's a 360 and Wii Sale coming up the next couple of Sundays, I'll bet.
 
I've been thinking about picking up 2K9 for some time and for 27 and some change that's a good enough price for me. Btw, I'm sure a 360/wii fathers day sale is on the way.
