How do you pronounce Asustek?

According to this lady who works there, it's "ah-SOOS." And of course, the pronunciation of "tek" is obvious.

Quite frankly, though, I'm pretty sure she's completely wrong. The original Taiwanese founders of the company have stated in interviews that the name is derived from the word "Pegasus," as in the mythological flying horse. Thus, I'd pronounce it like that word, minus the "Peg."

Then again, most everyone, myself included, seems to like "AY-sus," so that's what I go for, even if that doesn't agree with either of their official examples or explanations.

Where are you getting the "z" sound from, exactly? o_O

Because pronouncing it like Soos makes me think of Dr. Seuse and ay-sus sounds weird, zoos rolls of the tongue better.

If you're going to have a strange title it's open to interpretation.
