So I'd like to find some speakers for my PS3...

Err, here's the deal. I've been using an old tv as my speakers for my PS3 for the longest time. However, I really don't wanna lug that thing back to my dorm room.

So what should I look for in speakers that will hook up to my PS3? For video, I bought a monitor that's working just fine, but it doesn't have speakers in it. I've tried googling for help, but either the things I click on are wrong, or they're right and I just can't understand what's being said.

Once I know what to look for exactly, and what's compatible with the PS3, I should be set. If you want to link me to some fabulous deals or something, that'd be cool too, but I don't wanna get too greedy on the advice front here.

Get yourself an Onkyo receiver 605+ and check slickdeals for speaker deals. Sometimes Frys.com has some Polk speakers on sale.

I'd suggest the Logitech Z-2300. I know they're pc speakers, but they come with an adapter that lets them hook up to consoles. And they sound fantastic. Most places should have for the mid to low 100s in price, too.

The receiver's a decent idea, but I think it wouldn't be ideal for a dorm room. Some decent pc speakers with an adapter should work just fine for you.

It will come with the adapter. Shown in this picture.

I can vouch for the Logitech Z-2300. Had mines for over a year. Worked so well that I got rid of my Home Theater system. Have mines hooked up to my HDTV with the ps3, xbox 360 hooked up to the tv. Absolutely wonderful! Got mines from Amazon when they were around $60, even if you have Amazon Prime the shipping will not be free. Expect to pay about $100 total for these
