Gamezebo review:

"What you basically get here is just a re-skin of Elf Bowling 7 1/7: The Last Insult that slaps on a quick story revision, new visual elements and not much else to an existing title in order to make a quick buck. As such, the package is almost more pop culture artifact or gag gift than proper time-waster, offering roughly the same replay value and depth as the average Flash-based outing, or any of its predecessors."

Pros: Controls as well as ever. Jokes amuse at first blush. Fun selection of power-ups. No experience necessary.

Cons: Same game repackaged yet again. Repetitious speech samples. Humor gets old fast. Cheap computer opponents. Little incentive for progression. No major overhauls, play boosts or feature additions.

Rating: 2.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"A brilliant challenge for the wordsmith and poet within, Haiku Journey is brain-teasingly good. While it may not be your pathway to greater knowledge, it's certainly just a step away from hours of haiku-inspired enjoyment. Bow to your sensei and haiku!"

Pros: Gorgeous Graphics. Great music. Addictive gameplay. Unique Haiku twist.

Cons: Only one guess per Haiku.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Gemsweeper is a refreshingly different (and difficult) game for puzzle fans. It will especially appeal to those who love Minesweeper or other grid games of deduction, such as Sudoku. It does, however, take a good hour or so for it to pick up - but watch out - once it does, it can be one tough puzzler to keep up with."

Pros: Challenging and addictive puzzle game. Thorough tutorial and other game hints. Many levels and two game modes.

Cons: Minor bug that does not allow right mouse-button to become a hammer. Takes a while to really get going, but then can get quite difficult.

Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I loved Gemsweeper. One of my favorites. I will take this version of Picross over the Nintendo DS ones any day, since the entire puzzle fits on the screen...no scrolling! Makes it much easier to see what is going on with each puzzle. The game also has a nice style and personality to it.

There's no scrolling in Picross DS if you play with the d-pad and buttons, which I've always done. Much more accurate and comfortable, anyway.

Gamezebo review:

"PlayFirst's DinerTown Detective Agency is a new hidden object game (HOG) with fun deduction elements and many mini-games. If my weekend with this game (and my three kids) is any indication, this downloadable puzzler is worthy if your time -- and mouse-clicking finger."

Pros: Good hidden object puzzler with plenty of game-play. Cute scenarios and locations. Many mini-games and game-play variances. Two game modes. Familiar characters from past PlayFirst time management games.

Cons: Suspect interrogation becomes repetitive. Using the tools in environment not as enjoyable. Some spelling and grammar mistakes.

Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"In Samantha Swift and the Fountains of Fate, everyone's favorite archaeologist is off on a new adventure, this time hunting down different life-extending waters around the world. If you're already a fan of the series, stop reading and get to playing; if you've never played a Samantha Swift game, now's the time to start. Fountains of Fate may just be the best Samantha Swift game yet."

Pros: Gorgeous. Clever searches. Engaging puzzles.

Cons: M'alice is kind of a silly name, don't you think?

Gamezebo review:

"Make no mistake though: Diner Dash can be hard. Even seasoned players find some of the levels shockingly difficult, as online chat rooms attest. But this (and a weak music score) are really the game's only failings; and they're minor. That's why it earned this unusual perfect score - it really is a great game."

Pros: Each level offers distinctively different challenges; Easy to learn, easy to start, challenge to master; Satisfying rewards for meeting each goal; Appropriate comic book-like animation and graphics.

Cons: Can be very difficult; Music/sounds very limited.

Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 5.0 out of 5 stars

Just to note... the Diner Dash series is up to Diner Dash 5: Boom. The game above is the first and when it came out it was pretty special. Now, there are tons of games that have tweaked the formula and improved the production values. It is still a great game, just know that it doesn't have the production values or improvements that some of the newer time management games have...

Gamezebo review:

"Anyone disappointed with 7 Wonders of the Ancient World should try the immensely improved 7 Wonders II. For those who haven't played the original, skip it and head straight to the sequel."

Pros: Brilliant graphics. Rockin' and catchy music. Addicting. Big improvement over original.

Cons: Crashed often. Does not get difficult until late into the game. Somewhat difficult to read the descriptions of each wonder.

Gamezebo review:

"More of the same: That’s the immediate impression returning fans will get from Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife, latest in the popular Egyptian-themed action-puzzle series. In an unexpected twist, this installment mostly focuses on peripheral features, adding a cool narrated storyline, roving targets to pursue and collectible artifacts. Therefore, while still impressive in its own right, the game’s nowhere near as much of a leap forward as its immediate predecessor."

Pros: High quality audiovisuals. Polished gameplay. Moving targets. Upgradeable powers. Collectible artifact bonuses. Pleasantly-narrated story sequences.

Cons: Few truly meaningful upgrades. Light on power-up, play mode enhancements. Noticeably recycles graphical assets. Less ambitious than predecessors.

Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 4.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Love Story: Letters from the Past at least makes an effort with its romantic story, but it's hardly a stand-out in a sea of HOGs that all have similar graphics, settings, and so-so production values."

Pros: Unique older heroine.

Cons: Contrived hidden object searches and scrapbooking sections disrupt story's momentum. Forgettable mini-games. So-so graphics and predictable scenes (living room, garage, front porch, etc.)

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"While most time management games tend to be pretty formulaic, Antique Shop adds in other game genre elements to break up that formula, and amazingly it works. I know not everyone is going to see all the addition elements as a bonus, especially considering the amount of time it can take to get to your first destination, but thankfully there is a 60-minute trial version available for those on the fence. I think veterans in the time management genre will love Antique Shop's challenge and hidden object fans will love the chance to check out a new genre."

Pros: Addition of hidden object and adventure game elements. Good length and value for money. Fresh new game elements. Challenging.

Cons: Reaching goals may seem time consuming. Unlabeled clue objects hindering answering riddles. Seemed like the game had to many unnecessary moves added in.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"As any keyboard jockey worth their weight in hard drives knows, there are casual games - instantly-comprehensible titles which appeal to a broad audience - and then there are casual games, the sort so leisurely and undemanding you could practically fall asleep playing. Falling firmly into the latter category despite offering a wealth of different gameplay styles and colorful undersea realm in which to play, Hidden Wonders of the Depths predictably manages to entertain, but, as you might imagine, won't set the desktop world aflame. "

Pros: Multiple play styles. Attractive visuals. Hundreds of levels. Light on stress.

Cons: Lack of focus. Music. Sound effects. Light on challenge. Single game mode.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"To sum it up, Blood Ties is a run of the mill hidden object game that veterans of the genre will be able to finish in a couple of hours. However, people who prefer their hidden object games without mini-games or other diversions might appreciate the fact that Blood Ties offers a "pure" and uninterrupted seek-and-find experience. Fans might get a kick out of playing a video game based on their beloved TV show, but should keep in mind that they really won't be seeing all that much of Vicki and Henry in it."

Pros: Pure seek-and-find for people who don't like mini-games in hidden object games.

Cons: Names can refer to more than one item. Short length. Generic and dated scenery. Shallow story.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 2.0 out of 5 stars
