Steam Weekend Deal 7/24-26 - Velvet Assassin $25

No link is fail.

Also, wasn't this $20 somewhere else? Man, these steam sales have been useless moneygrabs ever since World of Goo was $5. Now, that's what I called a deal.

Just look in Steam, maybe?

Anyway, heard some pretty disparaging things about this Velvet Assassin, and I don't know if $25 is a good price for this. I also spotted this at my local Target for the same price on clearance.
Men of War is supposed to be pretty good, though.

Men of War for $7.50 is awesome - I bought the retail new @ $30 and have been having tons of fun with it ever since - highly recommended for strategy fans.

I wanted to like it. Looks decent, has an interesting twist(female spy in WWII? unique), and this may be stupid but I loved the way the tutorial is handled(she talks about what she needed to do to get past guards etc to tell you how to play, no random narrator or something)....but damn were the mechanics blah. After buying a large box full of games in the past few months, I just don't have time to trudge through this mess to see the good bits.

Might pick up Men of War for me and my bro. I'm catching up on the reviews of this game and it looks good.

why did you put only the crappiest game in the title of the thread? both Men at War and X3 are pretty good games even if you hadn't heard of them before

Agreed. Remember when Bioshock was $5 last January I think it was? That was an absolute steal...good times then. good times.

i would change it but i'm actually not sure of how to do that.

Yeah, I saw lots of bad reviews about Velvet Assassin
but men of war, that's a must have
I am kind of surprised that Dawn of War II wasn't a weekend deal, seeing as how direct2drive is selling it for 25.
Agreed.

Completely blows away all three of Steam's offerings this weekend, imo. And the bonus is that you just register Dawn of War 2 through Steam anyways.

Just vouching (sorta) for Men of War, being a fan of the series since Heroes of WW2~

Men of War has some amazing new sound effects, very...immersive. New UI too, but it still has god-awful voice acting and some rediculous missions. I recommend trying the demo at the very least, if you're into WW2/Strategy and have the patience to micro-manage up to...say...80+ soldiers? Sometimes you get less, and you can still take a couple and sneak around with them, but it's not like HoWW2 where you could use one soldier to take out 3/4 of a base.

Also has extremely extensive MP, with alot of mods to unlock even more units.

There's also a dynamic campaign generator, which can have its moments.
