How often do first party memory cards corrupt?

I know it seems like an odd topic, but I've given up on my 16x MadCatz Gamecube Memory Card. Countless numbers of times it has corrupted my data, making me lose all my WWE CAWS, Smash Bros. unlockables and important RPG saves. But my question is, how often do first party memory cards corrupt? I will be getting an official 251 block and would like to know.

I've never had any problems with first-party, and the only third party ones that have given me trouble were was a MadCatz brand Gamecube one (just like you). All of my first AND third party PSX/PS2 memory cards still work, even after more than a decade.
 
I've never even used a 3rd party card because the Nintendo ones are so easy to find. I've stuck with a single 1019 block card for a long time.
