I think "Devil's Rejects" is Rob Zombie's only good movie and I think it's very good. I was pretty surprised by it.

Thankfully had the power on with running water to scare away the Hammer Vampires.
Only movie I saw, since I was watching a Hitchcock Presents Marathon, was "I Come in Peace" starring Dolph Lundgren. It may be cliched as hell, but if you're only going to a few movies of that genre, add this to the list. It also counts as a Christmas movie.

Agreed. I was also surprised at how much he seemed to grow as a director from House to Devil's. Then he did Halloween and went down a little then went way down with Halloween 2. Hopefully he goes back up with The Lords of Salem.

He's making another movie?

I hope it has his wife and guys that look like him in it! It just wouldn't be a Rob Zombie movie any other way.

you are a pillar of the video game/gaming community.

Thanks you are truly a pillar of the community!

It's because of pillars like you, I remain in this community.  Thank you!

Spoken like a true pillar. The community sends its many thanks.

How dare you speak to the pillar of our community that way. If he says you're a closet vita fan he knows what he's talking about.

His wife is apparently one of the sweetest people in the world. I sell wine that she buys to an account in Connecticut and they love her at the store.

I saw that turd in the theater, even as a kid I thought it was terrible. I'm glad you liked it though. :)

Skyfall- Good. Haven't seen Bond since Casino Royale. Nice silhouette fight scene.

Wreck-It Ralph is indescribably good. I have a new favorite Disney movie, and possibly movie of all-time. Seriously, if you call yourself a gamer or even a Disney fan at all, there's no excuse to miss this.

Go see it. Now.

Of course it is. The remake is awful and Rob Zombie doesn't know how to make a good movie. He's just concerned about putting his wife into them.

You got it twisted, his wife is in the movies because he's more concerned about putting himself into his wife. Posted Image

I second this. I honestly think anyone who has played video games in the last 20 years would enjoy this. The mini movie they show before Wreck it Ralph was pretty awesome as well.

I hope I will NOT be disappointed with Wreck-It Ralph as I was compared to the overhyped Ready Player One. Considering I actually like the John Carter movie, my expectations should be higher, considering a Futurama guy is directing Wreck-It Ralph.

I hope it's not reference central like Ready Player One. Pandering like that gets tiresome. Seems like Wreck-It Ralph goes beyond that though so I'll probably see it at some point.

One criticism of Wreck-It Ralph is that it doesn't go deep enough with the video game theme, like how Toy Story or Roger Rabbit did with their respective themes. Isn't that the problem with children's movies these days in general? They have to aim lower, rather than focusing on just telling a gripping story regardless of the final parental ratings?

Got to see The Man With The Iron Fists last night, if you're into kung fu it's a definite must see. I would've liked to have seen some of the fight scenes go on for a little longer though.

I know Rza made some mistakes in filming / shooting the movie, but it came out good for a first time directing. Looks like he may have a bright future in the industry.

Normally, I'd 100% agree and I was shocked how wrong I was thinking she'd ruin the movie for me. Her character is so well written that her normal personality is stowed away and the character grows on you extremely fast. Think Tiny Tina from BL2 and you'll understand.

What's funny is all throughout the movie I was TRYING to find any little Easter eggs or references, and outside of direct gaming characters there's only subtle nods to popular genres. Instead of pandering, it weaves everything together cleverly and you end up just enjoying the overall story. You'll love it.

just a few i've seen in the past couple weeks:

The Mist - 1/5, not much needs to be said here

Departures - 4.5/5, excellent Japanese film about a man who prepares the deceased for cremation

Snatch - 4.5/5, brad pitt is hilarious

Batman: Dark Knight Rises- 2/5, long and uneventful, incredibly corny

No Country for Old Men- 5/5, perfect villain, really enjoyed it

PBS was showing the Hammer version of the Hound of the Baskervilles. I was actually expecting the Basil Rathbone one but this is an awesome surprise.

I think you need to elaborate on why you didn't like the mist.

No country for old men is a definite must see flick that guy is one of the scariest villians ive seen in a flick to date. the gas station scene is the shit definetly makes you think.

the mist was ok the whole one trick pony ending pretty much kills any re-watching value but that ending is just so harsh its funny and awesome.

Why the hell didn't they shoot the guy on sight? He was carrying a clearly dangerous weapon, and they just let him stroll around town?

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

Dead on.

The movie isn't fan service, while it has plenty of direct references it's mostly filled with tongue in cheek bits or genre related allusions.

While- if you really were to put them under a microscope some of the narrative mechanics might seem forced or contrived- the story and characters keep you from even giving them a second thought.

My kid loved it and my wife and (I) certainly enjoyed it.

Wreck It Ralph- Excellent movie, me and my GF and enjoyed it. It's not just a kids movie, it's a movie for everyone.

Leprechaun: In Da Hood- This movie is hilariously awesome. It has stereotypical ghetto rappers, Ice-T and a Leprechaun who talks in riddles and smokes weed in parts. My GF owns all the Leprechaun movies and well it was a fun watch.

Watched Macy Marlene Martha Maggie or whatever four M-names it's called. Would love to discuss the ending with anyone who has seen it.

Also, Elisabeth Olsen has amazing breasts.

Battleship. Yeah, I didn't expect it would be great due to a lot of reviews but holy crap that movie was freaking awesome. I'm truly considering buying that sucker on blu ray.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. I wasn't expecting much, but as a popcorn movie, it kept me and the wife really entertained.

Its too bad you're still a prick with a stupid gimmick.
