Finally saw Die Hard, and really understood all those references in that Cleveland Show episode. So sad the candy bar guy had to die so easily.

The Collector- The only thing scary about this movie was how amazing it is.

Quantum of Solace.

Still enjoy it and never got why it gets so much hate. It's not as good as Casino Royale, but is still a good continuation of the story with some awesome action scenes. Greene is a pretty lame villain, but otherwise I have no gripes.

Same here. I actually liked it. I mean not amazing by far but it was still pretty enjoyable.

Not right now, but maybe this weekend.

Loved it and totally makes up for the disappointing first film.

The Robber - Neat story about a compulsive bank robber who moonlights as a long-distance runner. Quiet film but two, maybe three, really cool chase scenes.

Black Narcissus - A bit like Black Swan but without a main character I actively hated. Film has some absolutely gorgeous production design. I saw it in HD and it's pretty breathtaking. The grainy youtube trailer doesn't do it justice. Pretty decent story but it's the sets that steal the show. Wow!

I have mixed feelings about it and I guess the first tempered my expectations for the sequel. I think I still like the first one more though.

The gf had me watch Dancing Queen on netflix and it was actually not a bad movie. Thankfully the subtitles were working because it's a Korean movie.

Safety Not Guaranteed.

Interesting story taken from a strange classified ad in a small town local newspaper.
Aubrey Plaza and Mark Duplass are great in this movie and the chemistry they develop as the movie progresses is great. The ending was fantastic.

I'm thinking of grabbing that from redbox today. Is it a actual horror movie or more like we are going to make loud noises to try to make you jump type of horror movie

Agreed. I'm really glad they went the way they did with the ending otherwise I think I would have been disappointed.

Its too bad you're still a prick with a stupid gimmick.

The last movie I actually watched was Hobo With A Shotgun and from the name alone I thought it was going to suck badly.

Surprisingly enough,It was actually really good.

Brief Encounter (1945) - A romance story about a married pair that contemplates an affair. If you like dramas, watch this with your better half. Seriously good.

Brighton Rock (1947) - Has this guy:
Spoiler
When he looked like this:
Spoiler
- He plays a hardcore out of his man psychopath gangster named Pinkie Brown that isn't above murder or marriage to cover his tracks. Just look at the crazy in his eyes:
Spoiler
. Richard Attenborough's performance is the easy highlight of the film. And probably one of the best all-time bad guys/gangsters in cinema.... see.

Charade (1963) - I love Audrey Hepburn. I love her hard. So hot and sexy and smart. She's got a quick tongue and a hint of mischief that I don't believe I can stand to be without... Well I guess I can say the same thing about Cary Grant too. Cary Grant is who George Clooney and Brad Pitt wish they were. Fuck this guy is awesome! Trust me! My gushing is well deserved, Charade is a fantastic whodunit about a group of people looking for $250,000 (in 1963) although they don't have the first clue about where it is they need to look. Man these old films had dialogue and lines that just BLOW current films out of the water. Probably the best film I've seen this week.

I watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation last night. It's always a good one to watch around this time of year.

Seven Psychopaths

Was good fun. Elephant is a good movie too, remember I first watched it in college as a example of long takes in movies.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

The Man With The Iron Fists - Not a great movie, but entertaining. I expected a super cheesy kung fu movie and that's what it was.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - I loved it. It did drag on a bit in the middle portion, but I don't see where much of the complaints on the movie are coming from.

The Hobbit HFR 3D - I loved it as well. It was so nice to see a LOTR in the theaters again, makes me realize how long it's been since Return of the King. I thought the HFR was fantastic. It was a bit weird in the beginning but my god does it work. Everything feels so much more real and I don't even want to see this in the normal framerate. A lot of complaints are that the HFR brings out the flaws of the movie and makes the special effects look less real, I thought the contrary. Everything felt even more real to me. One thing that's kind of bugged me about 3D movies is there seemed to be a lot of film stutter. With the HFR the stutter is completely gone. I am tired of the whole 3D thing, but this movie looked unbelievable in 3D. I haven't felt like that since Avatar. I can't wait to see this again.

I liked it more than any of the LOTR movies, with the exception of Gollum. He just annoys the shit out of me for some reason, like Jar Jar did for Star Wars but not as bad.

I didn't expect to like The Hobbit as much as the LotR movies, but I have to say I liked it more.

You're right though, you really have to see it in HFR. It's fantastic.

I wouldn't expect anything less from RZA.

I play bad games

If anyone isn't going to use their code I'd love them forever.

I don't like Godzilla.

There are just so many un-Godzilla like things it should be easy to see why people didn't like it (also the annoying cast). Zilla being killed by missiles was the biggest thing that bothered me Godzilla is supposed to be far stronger than that. The army shouldn't be able to hurt Godzilla unless they are using something like MechaGodzilla or Moguera.

The Hobbit (2D)

It wasn't bad. But it was adequate I guess. I'm just conflicted about this one. I feel like some stuff just wasn't needed. I also sort of don't give a shit about the plot's main motivation for some reason.

Also, some stuff looks weird in standard 24 fps in this, like smoke and particle effects. They looked really slowed down.

Finally saw Skyfall last night (thanks again CaseyRyback for the pass!).

Loved it. Easily the best of the Craig Bond films so far, and by default my favorite Bond movie since there's few of the older ones I really care much for.

Hoping to find time to see the Hobbit in 3D HFR and Lincoln with the girlfriend this week before heading out of town for a week for the holidays. We're both pretty swamped with work though, so we'll be pressed to get both in.

I'm not a huge fan of 3D, but want to check out the 48FPS.

I don't hate 3D, just don't think it's worth the extra cost most of the time--Avatar being one notable exception where the 3D really added a lot.

In any case, 3D is here to stay. Makes studios and theaters too much money by being able to charge more for admission.

I would put the 3D in The Hobbit on par with Avatar, it is extraordinary.
