G.I Joe: Retaliation, really could be one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Oblivion, really enjoyed it. Liked the twist wife the aliens/humans towards the end.

Oblivion  - I'd give it an 8/10, I really enjoyed it though it was flawed at times and could have done with some editing.

Chocolate - I liked the fighting and stunt work, forget story and acting for this one.

Saw a few bollywood films with the family due to the holidays. Not sure if anyone has any but they're quirky and daft but also quite entertaining.

Don't knock Bollywood man, their output is ridiculously higher than that of Hollywood's.

Does that make it better or something?

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

There's a few that I've seen that I really like (delhi belly is awesome)  but the majority to me is emphasis on style over substance. I guess you can say the same for Hollywood too but I get that vibe more so from Indian films. I'm guessing you've seen a fair few?

Anyway The Iceman 7/10 - I don't know much about the guy it's based on so can't comment on the accuracy or portrayal of events but it was a pretty decent movie to me. Outstanding performance by Michael Shannon and also Chris Evans impressed me in this as well.

Side by Side - 8/10 - a good documentary by Keanu reeves chronicling film and how it's made in general. He manages to interview some current greats like Scorsese, Fincher, Nolan, Boyle and Cameron along with other technical crew members.

Aladdin.

Got my blu copy in so I had to play it.

First, how can you claim prior non-existance to devalue a movement? I am sure the civil rights movement would love that. "Well, there was no movement to free the slaves before, so why is it relavent now?"

Pain & Gain -  I was shocked that I enjoyed this one, haven't liked a Michael Bay film since Bad Boys (the first one). It is an insult to the real events from what I read on. It has a really black comic tone and most people will be putt off by it like I said with regards to the real incident, even I was uncomfortable to laugh at certain points, even though I wanted to.

If you have no knowledge of the true events or don't care then it's pretty good in the vein of Very Bad Things.

Even though the beginning was slow and the end was kind of weak (the sequence after the end credits made things a little better), Kick Ass 2 was a lot of fun. How can you go wrong with an action sequence that

?

What was after the credits? I missed that.

But I also saw Kick Ass 2, and I really liked it. It's not as good as one, but it's still good. Too bad it's bombing.

They were showing a Jim Carrey movie marathon yesterday, and saw the Mask for the first time in a LOONG time.  It's a typical movie of his caliber, but I do have better memories of the cartoon.

I really don't get why it's bombing . Maybe people thought it was too much of the same? Then again I noticed the Tomatometer was 29% with critics and 77% with the audience. It's still doing better than Jobs though.

Stargate: Continuum - 3.5/5 - Pretty solid movie that adds some interesting stuff to the lore of the Stargate universe. And Claudia Black being sexy and awesome didn't hurt the movie all that much.

Kick Ass 2, classic "sequel no one needed" but it was better than I thought it was going to be.

Mud - really good film. The goods were excellent and Mcconaughy is continuing on that upscale with his roles, is it ok to say he's a good actor now without getting the piss taken out of?

On a side note this summer hasn't been too kind to the blockbusters released, which is a shame since not all of them were bad. Granted they weren't anything special but there were a few really good ones for me. If anything else this summer had the majority of films raking it in overseas while underperforming in the US.

Kick ass 2. Hitgirl is probably the only reason to watch this movie even if she isn't hitgirl till the end.
