Agreed.

Also, I might have GTA: SA in my list.

Favorites (I admit it, I'm a Capcom junkie):
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams
Viewtiful Joe
Persona 4
We Love Katamari
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
Devil Kings

Underrated Gems:
God Hand
Grandia III
Kya: Dark Lineage
Gitaroo Man
Ar Tonelico
Klonoa 2
Yakuza (1 and 2)
Shadow of Rome
Arcana Heart

Favorites:
Final Fantasy X (LOVED the battle system, story was slower and villains were pretty weak but liked the change of pace i.e. not trying to save the world from some evil ruler)
Mark of Kri
Maximo
Sly Cooper
Dynasty Warriors 3
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (great 2 player)
Nightshade
007 Everything or Nothing

Comment on Kya - When I first started playing it I thought it was great and underrated but as I played more of it, it became boring. The levels felt too long and I was frustrated with the camera especially when riding on those dinosaur-like creatures.

I think Haven the Call of the King is better (but it had some cheap and frustrating levels for sure). Galerians, the Getaway is in the same list of fun games that had some frustrating moments.

So I'm about halfway through FFXII, and I think it is one of the best RPGs I've played. I know it is a love/hate sort of game, but I love the political story rather than the save the world story. The battle system is refreshing and allows a chance create whatever difficulty the player wants. You can either travel everywhere and kill everything, or just avoid monsters altogether.

I started this game when it came out, quit playing and just picked it back up the other day. I decided to start a new save file since I didn't remember much of the story, or how the game played. I have to say, I am really impressed thus far as well. I love the characters, the story, the gameplay, the visual and audio style. It is one of my favorite PS2 and FF games.

In my personal opinion, Final Fantasy XII is the best game on the PS2, best game of the previous generation, in a dead heat with FF6 for best in the series, and maybe one of the 5 or 10 best games of all time. I like it a lot. :)

Other PS2 games I'm super fond of are Shadow Hearts Covenant, Katamari Damacy, Space Channel 5 Part 2, Persona 3, Dragon Quest VIII, Wild ARMs 5, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2... I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff. I still have an enormous PS2 backlog of games I haven't beaten or haven't even started yet.

I hate saying too much about any game until I beat it, but so far, I have to agree on FFXII's place in the series history. It makes me wonder why more FF fans do not appreciate it as much.

Personally, I did not care for X that much. I didn't care for most of the characters, the story, the world or the voice acting. XII seems to be restoring my faith though and I am now extremely psyched for XIII.

Also, good to see another Shadow Hearts: Covenant fan. Until XII, it was probably my favorite RPG on the PS2.
