CoD: Modern Warfare 2 $40 (PS3/360) - Amazon price match

Wow! already have this game, but very tempting to get another, I can play with my bros or something!

In my honest opinion, this game is inferior to Modern Warfare. Sold my copy for $45 after playing it for 2 weeks... glad I got it for $40 ^_^. Decided to go back to Modern Warfare, where the camping isn't that bad and the maps did not encourage it on EVERY map!

One point of note is that Steam is required to play the PC version. As such, buying from amazon is the same as buying off the steam holiday sale. Unless a daily deal goes under $40(which would be more than 33% off), this is probably going to be the best deal you can get for MW2.

Of course, one would hope that MW2 does magically go under $40 on a daily deal, but there are no guarantees.

Definitely worth it. There are still some bugs, but I'll be darn if there isn't fun to be had. I still prefer the maps in MW, but everything else is better in MW2, except those stupid 1887 shotguns.
too bad everyone and their mom already has this game
Why is that too bad, and why does it matter to you?

They patched those things up, range has been cut quite a bit. Definitely a fix

doesnt this drop to $40 at target this sunday? If you cant wait for it to ship, just spend some gas and pay some tax. i'd bite but i got all this credit from tekken and free 1600 point cards :p

One thing I don't get why they didn't do was include several of the popular maps from MW1 in it. I would have kept my copy for that. With the lack of a long campaign, I know they would have had room on the disk. Even a DLC code for that would be nice in my opinion. THEN they would have my money again if they released MW1 maps on MW2. Don't get why they need to fix what is not broken. Give us the maps from MW1 and all would be much better than MW1. Isn't like they would have to change much in the levels. Maybe update the textures. Little work since they are run on the same engine, don't get why they didn't include one or two of the maps -_-.

I agree, I loved when they did it with Gears of War 2 and just changed some things on the maps.

I wouldn't say that, some of us are purposely avoiding it still, either because of the boycott or (like me) are too disgusted with Kotick.... I was going to buy one for my brother for Christmas, but found out he preferred the Hardened Edition and bought it earlier. I bought him GOW Collection instead (which I want so bad myself, even though I've got the originals)

Really wasn't that impressed with this one myself. Too bad today's deal wasn't Uncharted 2 or something.

Would of liked that too, considering I already have this game.

$30-35 would have been sweeter considering I got it for $36 at launch (which I sold for $65 later in the night). :D

Very true. As for me, it was hearing how much of a glitch fest the MP is.

Actually no, with bling pro you can get back the original range pre patch so all the patch did is make people choose bling pro over marathon pro but the range/damage/everything is the same about the guns using bling pro.

I'm somewhat tempted to grab the PC version, but I don't really want to commit $$$ to things when steam could still have a ton of sweet sales.

Best Buy as well. I'll pick it up on Sunday. Also got gift certificates to cut the price down to like $25.

PRO-TIP: so they can charge you for stuff later.

Just think about this: "This game has been the best selling game of all time".

What does this mean?

There will be a million or more used copies in the near future making this game sell at low prices on places such as ebay and half.com. Additionally, there should be a "Game of the Year" version coming out, which will make people sell their copy like there is no tomorrow. I would not be surprised if this can be had used for $15 or so by February or March.

$15? Really? Doubt that...

Of course they're going to do that eventually, but they're going to wait a while like they do with every COD and release them later to keep you hooked. Plus taking more money from you in the process. It works on me everytime too. :bomb:
Return fraud. Awesome.
That's not what return fraud is. He bought the product from the store and is returning the same product to the store. Whether or not it is the same exact copy doesn't matter, the store isn't being cheated out of anything. He could've just as easily gotten a price adjustment if the store would allow it, but this being a one-day sale in an online store there's a 99% chance that won't happen.

Return fraud is returning a product to a store which you did not purchase it from or doing something like taking a receipt in the store, picking a product from it off the shelf, and returning that product.

That's funny because Modern Warfare also sold a ton of copies and I don't recall seeing that for $15 yet. I may have seen a copy or two in the random place for $20, but not lower.

those 1887's have been cut down quite a bit. in fact, i've died way too many times while using them in the last couple days. it's hard to get used to them having (literally) almost half the range.

Thanks OP, picked it up for $25 total after a coin star giftcard! Been waiting for the PS3 version for a while. Too bad it wasn't Uncharted 2, though.

I don't think MW2 will go sale on Steam, considering its been one of its top sellers despite its price of 59.99.

haha wishful thinking! COD4 is still going for $25 "Like New" on half.com right now and that game is 2 years old. COD/MW holds its value more than 99% of most video games.

Well worth $40 IMO though odds are if you like CoD, you probably picked it up at launch with the $20 gift card. Campaign really is short but what's there is enjoyable provided you don't need a good story to play a game. Spec-ops is a blast provided you have a friend to play with. Multiplayer is definitely where you'll spend the most of your time with the game. I'm not someone who needs to play 40-60 man servers to enjoy CoD MP so IWNet does the job well enough for me.

Return fraud can also be when you have something that breaks, so you buy a new one from the store and return them the broken one claiming it's defective.

With what he's doing though, I would be worried if the store scans the barcode and they can't find it on their database. So they will refuse to give you credit and hand you back the product. Thats happened to me with Home Depot once. The cashier told me that this is a Lowes item, lol. Of course I wasn't returning it to Home Depot on purpose.
