Cheap (free) DS protecter/"case"

bottlenut

CAGiversary!
Looking for a cheap way to shield your DS from everyday use when not using it?

Simple: an old sock.

It gives it plenty of protection and a glove fit, so you can quickly slip the thing in your coat pocket with no fear of damage before heading out the door.... winter-weight socks quickly became the "case" of choice for a lot of iPod users, and work great with the DS as well.

Try your local Target or Wal-Mart if your need a little more color, pattern and inspiration than the things smelling up your dresser.

(Obviously, invest in something larger if you're lugging along accessories.)

Happy (DS) gaming :)

I bought this case

It has a cool band that holds 8 games, a pocket to hold a few GBA games and a charger. It is also slightly padded.

Under $10 at local Wal-Mart. The smallest case with the most options I could find. Try droping your DS in a sock and see what happens.

I have that case too, except mine is grey instead of blue. Pretty good case for the 10, except i dont like how the elastic holds the DS games.

I have the same one, but in red instead. Be warned: This case will NOT protect your DS very much if it falls off of a table. The top screen on mine became cracked that way. Luckily, I had a warreanty, so everything was fine, but still... be warned...

I used to use a crown royal bag for my Sega Nomad. Couldn't buy any special cases for it.

I also have the same one except mine is all black, works well for the purpose of putting it in my backpack and not having to worry too much about my DS getting scratched and banged up.

A sock? Is that before or after you pleasure yourself in it?

That case (not the sock! ) is on sale for $4.99 at CC starting this coming Sunday. Thanks to The Successful Dropout for posting it in his weekly Ads thread. I hope they have red at my CC.
I use a sock, except I wrote "Mad Catz" on it in red Sharpie. No lie.
Heh, I did the exact same thing with my GBASP.. Red sharpie and all :)
