Amazon.Sadly it looks like quite a few of these sites have shut down in the last couple of years. Anyone have any new suggestions for deals on Gundam model kits? I'm getting back into the hobby after buying a bunch at Software, etc. as a kid, but damn they're expensive in the US.
I live in Southern California. Which stores are you referring to? It's been a while since I've built a Gundam, that sounds pretty fun right about now...I know some stores in Southern California that sell authentic Japanese imported gundam model kits. Are you looking for Gundam specifically?
Yeah I live near them too and went to their store last week. They're pretty chill guys, though the prices are still what you would expect in the US, i.e. high. There is a warehouse by me that sells gundams and other model kits at good prices. No idea how they compare to the other sites listed above, but you can give it a try.

Ah, the good ol' days...Went to an anime convention when I was a kid (back in 2003) and there was a vendor selling authentic kits from $3 to $100. Ended up getting about 20 kits and building them all in my hotel room.
Kinda makes me wanna get back into it
Only suckers say this ^Conventions are great too.
Yeah, the thing is that the figure i saw was this one:Granted, Otakon is the only convention I go to, but the main seller of Gundam models there is Bluefin, who charges more or less the same as their website (though rounded).
I am assuming the $30 kit was for the 1/100 scale? Because even Toys R Us was carrying Wing kits back in the day, and were usually $25-$30 for the 1/100 and about $7-$8 for the 1/144 kits.
More than likely, that $12 kit was on clearence, as Bandai changed their modeling process into the now familiar Master Grade (1/100) and High Grade (1/144). Typical HG kits are $18-$25, with the more elaborate kits costing $35 or so. MG kits usually start around $35 or so and can get has high as $55/$60 depending on how elaborate the kit is and what pack-ins are included. Real Grade kits are almost all $35. Perfect Grade and other such offshoots are typically $145-$200.
Plenty of (non-Limited/Special edition) MG kits are well over $60, and they have HG models that are 1/100 I believe.Granted, Otakon is the only convention I go to, but the main seller of Gundam models there is Bluefin, who charges more or less the same as their website (though rounded).
