I have a ton of old ps1 games that i can't seem to get rid of here so it's off to ebay. I've never sold anything there so i just had a few questions. The first is what you all think I should start with on these games. There are 102 below, i also have Parasite Eve 1 and 2, Castlevania Chronicles, Rival Schools, Both PS1 contras but I'd rather hold onto them since they'd get lost in the flood and there either pretty valuable or on the rare side.

There are a few other lots for 100 ps1 games that end with between 485 and 510. The thing with these though is out of the 100 games, 69 are disk only! Of my 102, only 3 are disc only and one has no manual. I know people in here are cheap and know the values of these games, on the other hand it's ebay and not everyone is willing to shop around. So if people could just give me some serious prices( I originally thought a BIN of 600 was good, 6 bucks a game seemed fair for my collection but now im thinking 800-900) and tell me a starting price and a BIN or whatever, im a ebay virgin here.

And of course all are original and in good clean working order.
Are you definitely going to sell it all in one lot?
That was the plan, is there a better method? I don't want to list all the games seperate for the sake of the less then steller titles.

I don't know, I'm not seeing much evidence of smaller auctions doing that well. People seem to go for the larger lots i guess out of convience rather then having to bid on different auctions with lots of extra shipping charges. If i did 2 lots, one of AAA titles and what of the crappy ones, does anyone think i'd do better then the 500 or so the other guy is getting. I'm thinking people will overlook spec ops if they see Metal Gear and Resident Evil, rather then a lot of spec ops and other bargain bin games, but i could be wrong...

I'm not a pro, but that's certainly a valid point. If someone could back me up, that'd be great...if your concern is "blacking out" the crappy games, maybe split it so you have a 2:1 or so ratio of good:crap in one or more lots?

A disadvantage to a lot, though, is that people may not be willing to bid really high for a lot with a lot of shit and one really good game. Sometimes you can get more for multiple lots.

That sounds like a possible alternative b0bx13 but how many should i do? 5, 20 game lots, 3, 33 games? I'd even consider throwing in the 2 parasite eve's and the 2 contras and maybe doing just a BIN of 800 for the hell of it or doing a reserve for that much. I know im going to lose money heading into this but i'd like to get a fair price back on these.

True...I was looking over this other guys list of games, i wish the link would work to show you, and we have quite a few of the same games but then a lot of his games are old sports titles and crappy puzzle games, whereas I have no sports or puzzle titles, (robotron is pretty good). If you couldn't tell from my list, I love action titles and not bragging or anything but i'd say at least 2/3 of my games are pretty decent (7/10) games or better. And if he's getting that much for his collection of mostly disc only I don't see how my auction could do worse then his.

And if someone was looking for a good lot to get into ps1 games they wouldn't go wrong with mine, I have a lot of the best ps1 franchises in my collection, i know not to many rpg's but still.

You might want to stick all the series together. While $6 a game isn't too bad, that's still $600 someone has to burn to get maybe 5-10 games they might want. Maybe stick all the awful stuff in one lot (quantity over quality).

On a side note, Planet of the Apes was AWFUL. :p

No argument there, but for every POTA there's a Tony Hawk and a Syphon Filter. I don't think the collection is that bad, especially if i add PE and the Contras, this weekend i'll see if i can buy the cases from eb to those other games just so i can put ALL COMPLETE in the title, maybe I can pick up a few more decent cheap title and boost it up a little more. 110 game lot might give someone a chubby.

The best thing to do would probably be to break up the lot into smaller ones, but offer combined shipping. Offer the Metal Gears in one lot, the Mega Mans in another, etc. For the other stuff, group them in lots of 5-12. Lots any bigger than that will start earning you less per game.

Nobody like the one big lot theory? The only thing with that videogamer is what do i do with the sucky games and how much could i get for 2 metal gears as opposed to 2 metal gears and 100 other beeping games. That and the fees, I'm really getting sick over this. $800 can buy me 3 weeks of porn so some more thought will need to go into this. Keep the idea coming though, i appreciate everyone's input and im glad nobody said "Your games suck" yet. But we should get that by the second page im sure.

Actually now that i had a little more time to digest videogamer's post it does make sense, if i could get 30 let's say for both Metal Gears as opposed to 8 each if done my way. But if i start the bidding at ten and because im not Irish and have no luck, just one person bids I lose and the fees!!!! If i did a BIN i'd get that promised though. I gotta sleep on it. Maybe if I did do 900 i could offer free shipping or something, i'd be happy with that, or I could do a dollar off for CAG's!!!!! Come on guys, that's front page stuff...

My suggestion would be to list a few moderate to low value games (but ones that will sell - maybe ones that are ending somewhere in the $5-20 range on average) to get your feet wet selling on eBay.

You could throw one up there with a penny starting bid and try your luck (plus you'll be certain to get a sale and not have to wait around another week to finally get that first completed auction). When I first started selling I put up 3 or 4 things with what I thought were good starting bids and nothing sold. So the next week I put up one thing at a penny just to finally get my first sale under my belt.

I generally list my stuff with a min bid a little below what I think most are selling for and BIN price a little above the average ending auction. Works pretty well. I'll do penny starting bids from time to time and it really is a crapshoot. They seem to end lower than my typical BIN auction, but not always.

You can jump in head first if you want, but I'd ease in with a couple single game auctions at first. Plus if you link to your first auction here, we'll be happy to pick it apart and tell you all the ways you screwed it up! ;)

I have auctioned off several large collections (NES, PlayStation, Magic: The Gathering).

I recommend posting individual auctions and offer combined shipping. This offers the convenience of a lot while catering to the buyers who just want a single game. This pushes up your prices.

Try to get all auctions up at the same time. This allows people to easily "view seller's other items" and make more bids, pushing up your prices. Putting up a few games at a time or in lots is not a good idea. You will get less per game.

There may be a few games that end up not selling, but chances are they are worth less than the cost of shipping, so it is easier to just keep them/use as coasters/give away. You should have a general idea as to what the games are worth, so you can set the starting price accordingly, or avoid listing the worthless games altogether.

Thanks for the above replies, I picked up a few more games at eb with the B2G1 free sale, and i had some other games that I never added to the list, so now the grand total of games is 117, i'll post the new games later and im considering putting my playstation one system in there and just trying one big lot with a reserve price and just watching the madness.

If it doesn't sell i'll definately consider breaking it up although im not looking forward to it. I'd appreciate it if someone could recommend how to break it up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meanwhile I gotta clean and test all the games to make sure everything is good. Also I noticed my Mega Man X4 is a non-gh, anyone know if that is valuable, a lot of my games are non-gh but that one stuck out at me because I remember people here asking for it.
