List of Games Affected by Microsoft Pulling the Plug on Original Xbox DLC

PseudoFinrod

CAGiversary!
I honestly don't know if this is the right forum to post this in, but Microsoft has already pulled all downloadable content for original Xbox games.

http://kotaku.com/5465871/dlc-removal-threatens-halo-2-farewell

I learned about it from the above article. It discusses how the removal threatens the sendoff Bungie planned for Halo 2.

I have not been able to find a complete list of original Xbox games that had DLC. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any besides the following:

EDIT: Wound up finding a pretty comprehensive list of games affected. Dunno if it covers everything, but seems to come close.

EDIT #2 (shrike4242): Compiled the original list in the OP with posts in the thread.

The original ninja gaiden had the 2 or 3 hurricane packs that added weapons and challenge modes. This dlc was one of the first I ever downloaded, as it was free.
Project Gotham Racing 2 had paid-for DLC. It never went free as far as I am aware.
Added that to the list.

Such bullshit....Ive had the maps forever.....but a couple of weeks ago I played halo 2 for the first time in a while and it tells me that my maps are corrupted. So I downloaded 2 of them thinking Ill get the other 2 later. AND NOW THIS HAPPENS. damn it. Not only will this stop me playing Halo 2 until it shuts down, but I wont be able to do local with the new maps ever. Doesnt sound like Bungie is going to put them back online either. Im thinking theyll only make a playlist with the old maps only...

Oh, fuck. What does this mean for patches? Many Xbox games won't let you play online without them. And does this apply to Original Xbox Downloads from the XBL Marketplace?

EDIT: To emphasize, I'm talking about the patches/DLC for Original Xbox games from the XBL Marketplace. Do they come with the updates/DLC, or did/do they expect you to already have them?

So patches for playing online won't matter.

all i can say isfuckMicrosoft. They could've given us notice about pulling the dlc. That is a major d-bag move. It's one thing to shut down live support but another to just remove all dlc. they better put it back up for awhile if not permanentely. everyone needs to have their voice heard, if there is enough of an outcry they'll have to fix it! Can I hear a Live boycott?

Sid Meier's Pirates! had one DLC, but I can't remember what it was - possibly ship flags or something like that

I thought they had to give 30 day notice! I upgraded to a new hdd and forgot to get all my 360 game dlc again. The main thing i wanted is halo 2 maps for local play at least. I got it on my other 360 but that does not help on this one since a new tag. I hate MS just for the fact they stop with there older console support when they do a new one. I know sony will still support systems way after there new console comes out. They should add memberships that include xbox originals and we pay $1-2 extra a month. I dig Halo 2 online and shocked about this.

Did anyone wonder yet maybe there doing all this to boost the xbox originals support for buying from there store? Maybe they will add halo 2 with everything for us and get more money.

This leads me to ask are they going to keep supporting the xbox originals they are selling on live now? I bought a few and would be pissed if they pulled xbl support.

I found what appears to be a fairly comprehensive list of the content affected. Have edited the info into the first post.

From what I have read they are indeed pulling the online support for xbox live originals. Youll still be able to download them, but only play them in their offline modes.

DUDE. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory VS Mode was DLC?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-!

That was really, really fun. I'm pretty sure my DLC for it is corrupted by now, so no more SC:CT online for me. *Cries*

That, or I'll just go out and buy a PC copy of the game and use XPadder to use my 360 controller. :3
Edited the title. Thought the list might be useful to anyone interested in knowing what games were affected.
Jesus Christ, that's a whale of a list. Some important stuff on that list, too, such as Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack 1.

Don't forget about the first generation XBLA games. A whole bunch of standalone games that people paid for that they're never going to be able to redownload again. They possibly may never be able to use them again if they need to be logged in to Live in order for them to work. I don't know. I never bought any of them myself.

Not DLC, but I believe Unreal Championship had a patch that improved framerate and removed names appearing over players all the time. People were really pissed off at the names appearing all the time blowing their cover, and that patch removed them if I remember correctly.

Tron 2.0: killerapp

on a side note, I noticed title updates ARE working for games. BUT DLC is still a NO.

I'm really irked that MS has not even acknowledged that they took the DLC down.

If DLC is never brought back to these games, I hope someone works out a type of crack that will allow users to play the additional features. There are some things on that list that I would love to try out esp. the extra Splinter Cell missions, Vs. Mode on several games, etc. I just recently picked up a few of these games on the list too.

Guess what. I'm downloading the Halo 2 maps onto my replacement OG Xbox right now. Don't know if DLC for other games is working, but strike while the iron is hot.

Thanks for the list BTW. Guess I'll be doing lots of downloading tonight if other games are working. I have a few games on the list that have content download marked on the box I'll check out. Could be the downlaods were never released though. Outlaw Volleyball was one.

Did OG Xbox games do game updates? If so, is there a list anywhere of ones that did?

Where'd you get the subscription to XBL?

You can use your 360 Gold Live on your OGxbox as well. There's a faq on xbox.com. You have to have gold and you can only use one xbox online at a time.

Crap. I don't have Gold.

Kingdom Under Fire Heroes lists DLC on the box, but the game does not find any DLC when you search for it. Wonder if it's not been restored to live or if they never followed thru with making it and there never was any.
tag for later.
Not too much later.
Crap. I don't have Gold.
I'm pretty sure about that, but not 100%. That's the way I seem to remember it which makes sense because Gold is pretty equivalent to the old Live subscription. Opening a couple of new games to get DLC has led me to find a couple of 2 month trial cards if you want one. The others are spoken for I think.

Hey, if you got extras, I'll take one. I can't find those 2 month codes anywhere. None of my games have them. I don't know how longer that stuff is gonna be up and I wanna get the content while I still can. Shoot me a PM.

^^^ Wasn't it free? I know current XBL has made it so such things seem impossible to us, but a lot of the original XBox content was free.

Thanks for the list. I need to get that Phantom Dust stuff.
can anyone tell me how much the Yavin planet for KOTOR is?
Only thing I paid for back in the day was a car pack for PGR2 which had my impeza in it and I had Yavin, so it must be free.

Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers (sequel) also had 1 dlc mission, After Zafarra. Iron Phoenix also had two dlc maps, Night Demon Island, Shin's Fortress.

Updates from tonite:
The following list DLC on the back but there was nothing available: Colin McRae Rally 2005, Outlaw Tennis, Advent Rising.

Mechassault 1: Objective Package is 4.99.
Mechassault 2: Battle Pack is 4.99

Also, almost all of the ESPN 2k5 games all still had rosters online and it looks like you can still play games, which I was curious about as when EA got the ESPN rights, they shut down servers on the PS2, but I guess the xbox servers for ESPN games were run by MS. NCAA didn't have roster updates and I can't find my NFL disc. I've been using user created rosters for each new year since then anyway. A few tweaks with the roster editor on the net and it's all good.

Has anyone played the two DLC single player levels for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory? Any good?

I played the downloadable levels for the first Splinter Cell and they were pretty impressive.
This was exactly what I was thinking. What crooks!
Crooks is a little harsh.

My complaint is that if you loose your HD you loose all the content you purchased as well once they shutdown.

So, if they give it away and you loose you HD well, at least you did not loose your money -- your stll pissed but whatever.

Anyway, I downloaded all the available free content I could find.

I still love my xbox games
