I used one similar to this. It was a different model but same brand, lasted a while before it broke. For 10 bucks I'm sure its a pretty good deal.

Looks like PC only because it uses two 3.5mm plugs and not Usb - a shame, I was tempted to get it
 
I actually had this headset - it's obviously an older model. Audio isn't bad, the microphone busted after 3 years of use (although I still have a suspicion that it was software related).

It's an absolute must buy for $10. The volume control on the headset cord is a nice addition as well.

There are adapters you can get to make it into a USB-capable headset.

Just grabbed it off Amazon. Perfect timing because for whatever reason the mic doesn't work on my other headset. Couldn't find my spare headset and I guess it got lost in my move. Now maybe I can use vent again.
 
Put in an order for one off amazon, the current headset i use the mic dont work and the sound is having issues, it has to do with the plugin things.
 
For those asking how to make it compatibale with consoles. Just as an example, I have a cheap headphones that I use to game and it has a 3.5MM plug. I have that going into a $3 splitter that converts to RCA cables. Then I have 2 RCA couplers that link that to my PS3s RCA cable. Now I have HDMI for video and RCA for sound into my stereo headphones. Sounds stupid and a big hassle to setup, but the hassle isnt that great and I had inexpensive but nice sounding headphones I wanted to use.
 
Looking at these again they are the same ones I had before. The only issue i had with them was they were kinda uncomfortable wearing for long periods of time, and eventually broke but that might of been due to me dropping them a lot :p
 
Yeah the best bet for 360 is to do something like this.

That would just be for the microphone going into the controller. The other end for the speakers you can jack into your television if it has one or get a headphone to RCA. Set your XBOX to emit audio through the speakers and you basically just made yourself a headset which is like how the Turtle Beach guys do it.

No.

You would need to find some sort of USB adapter which I'm not sure exists or would work properly. With the 360 at least you are using analog adapters to carry over an analog signal.

Not sure if it will work with either a PS3 or a X360, because I have the official Sony PS3 headset and don't have a X360...
 
Did any of you gents get a tracking number via Amazon order? It says it should be arriving starting today for the estimate but every time I go to view the tracking information it tells me it is unavailable. Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah but it only started showing updates today. It also says its in my city and has left seller facility and is in transit. Not sure if that means it will be delivered today or not, it says estimated delivery is the 13 but that cant be right if its in my city now.

Yeah same deal here. It just has my towns name and in transit although it didn't come in the mail today.
 
Didn't see it come Saturday...found the package today....weird.

Anyway these headphones are amazing for $10. They sound excellent without batteries as well and have a very rich bass. The surround sound feature works well, I prefer using that strictly for gaming on 360/PC.

Either way for those of you still waiting for shipment fear not, you got a great deal.
