GAMESTOP: Save $25 on any new game $29.99 or higher when trading select titles.

Good deal on some of them but I was hoping it was a code or something lol. Maybe edit the thread title to be more descriptive.

That's an incredibly misleading title.

Thanks for posting, but I believe it's been covered in the Gamestop Trading thread.

Definitely not a bad deal if you've purchased one of those games and played it through already. But I agree, the title needs to be changed "when trading in select games".

sorry i just paste and copy. It's sucks coz I just traded 3 of the titles that I have on the list yesterday. I could have gotten extra five bucks on each. Oh well if life is so short.
got 2 copies of mario kart and SSBB. Need to get 4 good games.
all you have to do is trade in all your games and get the games and ask for gift receipt and return it and then buy all the games you want online. You can save a lot of money with all the promotions going on.

I have Mario Kart Wii that I want to trade in. However, since the TIV is $20, it's better for me to just use tiered deal to get $30 for Mario Kart Wii.

what is the tiered deal?

No. From the information on the website: "$25 savings is net after trade." That basically means the value will be bumped up to $25.

ok I am trying to understand this deal..so If I trade Batman AA for PS 3.. I can get 25 towards a new game. I am looking to buy Heavy Rain. Sounds too good to be true!

Wait ... to clarify ... is the $25 the net value of the trade (as in, everything is either raised to $25 trade in value or in some cases dropped to $25) or is this an additional $25 on top of the value of the title traded in?

ah ... nvm ... awful deal then

If they give you an additional 25 on the game..it's definitey not true...we are talking about GS here.

It's $25 after the bonus. Basically you will see the base TIV, then you put a game that meets the requirements on the purchase then the TIV will be bumped to $25. If I remember correctly though, the EDGE card will give you 10% on the base so if a game is normally $15 you should get $26.50. That is how similar promos have operated in the past.

Yeah, I got almost screwed by a similar trade offer before. They tried to drop the trade in value of the game I was trading in (AC2) because it was on the list for that promotion; even though the TIV board above the register said it was worth $8 in a trade in. I ended up just getting store credit, getting the full value and coming back later to use the credit for a purchase.

Shady, shady.

That's what I was wondering but that was obviously foolish optimism I guess.

It's not too bad..I am thinking about Batman AA and Mario and Sonic at the olympics games. Thanks JP!!

Now for you to get the bonus TIV on two games, you almost certainly have to purchase two games. Can't guarantee that, but that is how they normally work.

Yeah I thought you got the TIV plus an extra $25 towards a purchase. Guess not, pretty lame.

Yeah, the same company that just finished giving 50% more on trades ... so it's not crazy or out of the realm of possibility. But yes ... Gamestop is back to being shitty, glad I got my credit out when I did.

ya, its so crappy that they dont give me $25 for gow III, then the edge bonus, and then 25 bucks on top of that to buy something new that costs 29.99 or more. its just crazy that they wont do that.

Wow L4D 2 on this list..I just bought 4 copies at about 13.xx each a few weeks ago..they had it at 17.99 used and with CAG16 and edge.

There's some good games to be trade in like Tales of Vesperia and Forza 3. I wonder how many people are going to trade in Forza 3 from Xbox bundle?

this is a good deal on certain games. Mario super sluggers is supposedly $7 used at BBV.

Turn $7 into $25 off? Sounds good to me. Plus b1g1 on used games starts tomorrow... supposedly at BBV.

This could be interesting.

Better buy two copies of Mario Super Sluggers... that's a must have for Wii owners.

Sluggers is my favorite local multiplayer game of this generation. If you can't have fun playing that game with a friend I don't know to tell you :) I recommend trying it before trading it.

I figure the only way I'd do this is to trade in a game that I got cheaper than or ~$25 and pay an extra $5 for a $29.99 game. But I don't see many $30 titles being worth it other than stuff I already have like AC2, Oblivion GotY, MUA2

1.not a baseball fan.
2. play my multiplayer games online.

That's why.:D

This is probly like the past deals where you can trade stuff in and purchase new and then return for credit. This looks good for Tekken 6 rz $20 off deal for 25tiv especially if bestbuy drops the msrp by then. plus the b1g1used Mariosupersluggers deal thelegendofdtre posted.

They would do this when I had traded in the games last week. Glad to have motivation to finish Assassin's Creed 2 (yeah, rather old game...haven't beaten yet). Here I come, UFC Undisputed 2010! :)
Not the greatest deal, but not too bad. Do you know if it can be applied to pre-orders?
I called customer service at GameStop and my local store. They both said yes as long as you use the store credit on it.

This would be a decent deal for me except the fact that I already have all the "new games". I wonder how long this deal will last?

Altho, I don't have Yakuza 3 yet...
If I can trade in my $13 L4D2 game for $25 off the newly priced LBP GOTY edition... then I'm up for it!

Thanks OP. :D
You can trade it now, they change the price on LBP GOTY at my store.
