This just popped up on my dashboard last night, but I had seen it on my buddy's dashboard about two weeks ago. I think what's happening is that this ad only pops up when you've got about one week left on your gold subscription, as mine is scheduled to run out on 5/1, and the ad says "Renew now for only $9.99...etc", so very much YMMV.

Maybe this is old news, but I figured I'd post a thread for those that weren't in the know.

I saw this on my girlfriend's dashboard a couple days ago. I activated her 12-month a few weeks ago, so I don't think it has to do with when it expires. It may not even be YMMV. You probably just have to have a Gold account.
