i got a brand new gamecube for $32.00

shadow711711

CAGiversary!
Thats right. And this is when gamecube was $150.00. Heres the deal. i bought a bunch of PS1 games off of my friend for $20, then, I back copied all of them (i have a mod chip in my PS1). THen, using a coupon from EB (which doubled the tradein value of all the games) I traded them all in, getting about $140 in store credit. So, the 'cube turned out to be $12 that I had to actually pay, plus the $20 I paid my friend...$32.00 total payment! And I didnt even "lose" all the games I traded in, I copied them anyway. The staff were being a pain about the whole thing, but screw them anyway!! I ripped them off, and the greatest moment was when they realized i had ripped them off so much, so they asked me if I wanted any games, memory card, or controllers with it, I said NO! Ever since then, I have not spent a single cent at an EB store!

Getting a bunch of games for $20 is generally a good deal. Getting $140 in store credit for games you paid $20 for is a very good deal.

Keeping copies of games you don't own any more is not something I can condone, so I'm afraid I can't rate your deal as a whole. Also, EB has some of the better deals around, so screwing them over isn't really in the best interest of us gamers looking for a regular good deal.

-merscwog

yeah, you did really rip them off since the double points was a legit coupon and they still got the games, they could care less if you made copies. They got games, you go money, that's how trade ins usually work.

EB does screw people on trade ins so good for you. If I was going to go somewhere and trade stuff in Babbage's is the place to go, I was there and on the board it said they would give 30 for GCN Soul Calibur 2. Granted thats just mine but the staff was nice and the had some great GBA games I picked up on that buy 2 get one free used deal

I wont comment on the piracy but the games and the credit you received were an excellent deal. I remember once walking into eb and the deal was "trade in any 2 non-excluded titles and get chrono cross for free" and I picked up 2 $10 games off their shelf and bought CC.

Yeah, definitely a good deal, everything but the piracy.

It is really easy to get good deals if you are willing to lie cheat and steal.

It is kind of funny how you all think it is such a badthing that i back copied all of my games when ALL of you are members of this site, which offers you free magazine subscriptions illegally, and posts offers that are illegal as well, such as the coupons from EA that were given to people who "bought" NFS, LOTR, etc. So, people, please, dont bullshit me.

I was unaware of the illegal magazine subscriptions. To be honest, I never paid much attention to the magazine boards, as I get too much junk mail as it is.

I did not take advantage of the EA deal.

When someone posts that they are a thief, I generally make it clear that I do not approve of such activity, so don't feel singled out. There are a lot of CAGers who do things which I do not condone (Walmart scammers come to mind immediately). Your post, which I have quoted here, is ludicrous. Someone else engaging in illegal/immoral activity does not justify you engaging in illegal/immoral activity, and you really shouldn't have to be told that. If you don't want people calling you a thief, don't announce that you pirate games, or, even better, stop pirating games.

And just because someone is a hypocrite, doesn't mean they can't have a valid point.

Stop being an idiot and take people's criticism like a man. These people are commenting as you asked them to. If you weren't willing to take some criticism you shouldn't have asked for people's opinions.

I would go as far as possible as long as I'm within LEGAL limits, and not fucking over other people.

People like this are what's wrong with this world.

That's how the people here (and elsewhere) are. If they didn't do it, they will admit that it's bad, but if they also participated in it, then they try to say that what they did was fine. You are the same way. You can see that stealing magazines and lying to get coupons is wrong, but I still haven't seen you admit that backing up games is just as bad (a lot worse IMO).

just about all of us are basically "pirating" games these days. How many of us can honestly say we have never owned one rom in their life? I love the deal. Great job man!!!!

I understand the importance of everyones arguement against pirating however. Just trying to bring up the fact that roms are pirating as well unless you own the real game. And us rom users can generally have between 1 and 1000 games at our disposal with a click of a mouse. Old PS1 games don't really sell anymore so i wouldn't say he hurt to much by copying them.

I can honsetly say I haven't . In fact, I don't even know what a ROM is, lol.

But seriously, my argument wasn't about right/wrong and the grey area in between. I just don't appreciate someone grouping everyone together because a few people gave him their opinion, whether their opinion is right or wrong. If he wasn't prepared to deal with any negative opinions, he should not have asked what people thought.

How much did the mod chip cost? You should factor that in. :p

Anyway, like everyone's said, it's easy to get good deals if you're willing to break the law. I know you can get dozens of GBA games on a flash card for a fraction of what it would cost to buy them, for example, but I refrain from doing it myself.

the topic creator said that the free mag subscriptions were illegal? just wanted to know why..like whats wrong with them?..and is the gamepro one bad? cause i just signed up for it...

The free magazine subscriptions are not illegal. They earn their money by selling your information to spammers.

yes, SOME of the mag subscriptions are illegal, not the gamespy one though. ANd for all of you who are trying to justify your being a member of this site, dont. If you are a mamber of this site, you are supporting illegal activity. Period. If you were really against the EA deal, or the illegal magazine subscriptions, then you would not being using this site right now.

So you are comparing me to Serbian genocidists, Hitler and the Columbine shooters because I copied a few games, that I BOUGHT EARLIER ANYWAY. LOL.

Here is the true question people: Did I do anything wrong if I made copies of games that I already paid for earlier, and I wasnt going to go buy new copies of them once I traded them in anyway. EB got their games, and I kept the games as well. NOT A SINGLE PERSON lost a single cent on this deal, except for EB, but it was their coupon that I used, and thus, their "fault". You can quote me on that.

So which ones do u think are illegal? I'm curious because you seem to have such a masterful knowledge of the legal system.

Oh and FYI, if you read carefully in the back of the instruction booklet it clearly states (I'm paraphrasing) that "this product....may not be distributed, COPIED....for ANY purpose." Its called copywrite law.

Being a member of a site that lists discounts doesn't mean everyone here is doing illegal things. There are some legitimate coupons listed here that people can use. If you have such a problem with everyone here at this site, there is an easy solution....just leave.

One time I went into a game store, choked everyone in it to death with some shoelaces, stole a NEW copy of Chrono Cross and 3 packs of E-Reader cards. So that was like, $60.00 for $0.00! I know what you're thinking..."Justin, what about the shoelaces?" Well my meticulous friends, normally I would have to add $1.47 to my operating costs, but I shoplifted them from Wal-Mart so you can just stuff your naysaying RIGHT NOW.

Before you judge, please remember that some of you used coupon codes that weren't yours, and I'm sure some of you have snuck colas into the movies, so my simple act of murder/theft doesn't seem all that bad, so you are a HiPoCrItttE if you say anything about me.

Also, on a side note, I heard that some people on Hotmail have emailed kiddy porn to eachother across it so I am cancelling my account as of TODAY. Because that is the logical thing. I'm also never again using E-Bay because some people have stolen things available there.

Since I lost my fuckING FREE WILL in a tragic automobile accident I feel that I should never use these sites again because I don't approve of isolated activities of some users. Because that's VERY LOGICAL.

Side, side note. I was watching Johnny Depp be really hard ass on my Pirates of the Carribean DVD today, just flipping over stuff, then stabbing other stuff, then stabbing stuff he just flipped over, and it got me thinking.

We really need to stop calling petty pre-teens who burn copies of PS1 games on thier dad's PC that he uses to balance the check book "Pirates." I've not burned a game before, but I'm sure it includes a minimum of flipping and stabbing, if any at all. I doubt any of them wear eye patches, though many of them doubtless have scurvy.

My idea for a better name? Glad you asked, Susan. I would like to suggest "Stealers". See that way, you get the idea that they do steal shit, while still being reassured that there is no raping or pillaging going down.

Maybe the whole piracy problem is linked to kids not really wanting free games as much as they long for the salty air of the open sea and the feel of a cutlass in thier hands. Because you can contain that part of your soul, BUT YOU CAN NOT KILL IT.

Pirates, Stealers, are we talking about these thieves, or Pittsburgh sports teams (pretty bad, I know).

greendj27: Actually it is copyRIGHT law. Aside from that, I agree with everything you said.

What we see here, kids, is a middle aged man with no life, calling others "preteens". Or maybe he isnt a middle aged man, but a mere child, since he was viewing the Pirates of the Carribean" DVD (no matter how good, still a children's movie). But, ladies and gentlemen, the true person we have here is a LOSER. Go, tmbgman, get laid and stop worrying about some "preteen" burning games. Thanks.

Well, i've obviously been bested. Good show shadow711711 you really showed me up. I watched Pirates of the Caribbean (which was rated PG-13, by the by) so I am obviously a child who's arguments have no validity. I doff my hat to you sir, the day is yours.

Little Girl: Can I play with it?
Frink: No you can't play with it, you won't enjoy it on as many
levels as I do... Mm-hai bw-ha whoa-hoa. The colours
children. Mwa-ha-lee.

-- Professor Frink (The Simpsons) on playing with one of those preschooler vacuum toys with the colored balls inside.

I think more than a few of the people on this board are adults (in age, anyway), but enjoy things commonly associated with children -- like, I don't know, say maybe videogames? Most "children's" entertainment is actually designed with adults in mind (we adults, after all, are the ones who must take children to these movies, and we pay for all of it). I haven't seen Pirates of the Caribbean, but I am pretty certain that if I were to watch it, time would not reverse.

Shadow: I gather from your argument, that you are not a "preteen", as you seem to take great offense at being labeled with that term. Please forgive the assumption, I am certain it was not meant as an insult. It is simply that most adults (most children, too) know better.

By the way, your statements that tmbgman is most likely a "child" who needs to "get laid" could be construed as an attempt to corrupt a minor. You do seem to support a mind-numbingly large amount of illegal and immoral activity.

Speak English, you mongoloid - and more importantly, offer proof. I don't talk to defects who are so lazy that they type in "u" instead of the proper "you." Please see your remedial English teacher at once for extra lessons after school.

Idiot.

sure ill offer u proof. one of the deals says "thanks for purchasing our product. As a free gift, you can choose from the following mag subscriptions: blah, blah, blah." IT was the deal for the EGM, CGM and other mags, I think. oh, btw, get used to people typing certain words abbreviated. See, in the real world, many people do this to save time.

In the real world, people interact with each other in a clear, concise, and coherent manner - all traits that you've yet to master. Go ahead and e-mail your boss the way you post here and tell me how far you get. Abbreviations are one thing, horrid spelling and grammar deficiencies are a whole different ballpark. BTW, I did that deal for the free EGM, GGM, etc., and nothing of the sort was written there. Please know what you're talking about in the future.

Normally I keep myself from swearing but in this case...

YOU ARE THE BIGGEST fuckING ASSHOLE EVER!

Not only do you fucking rip off a friend for $140 worth of games but your then have the audacity to post here in this forums that you PIRATED GAMES! And to top it all off you call these boards an illegal forums as if this is a warez site.

WHAT THE fuck IS WRONG WITH YOU!

You are the first person I think should be instantly BANNED from this site and you entire class C IP address fucking blacklisted. If this was my fucking site I would take your stupid admission of theft and send it a Sony Lawyer along with your IP address and times of posting. You would be instantly fuckED.

i think that we should settle with peace and learn some thing from this.

What kind of a fucking ass hole brags about stealing from two great orginizations, the best friend orginization and ebgames. great deal you got. i bet if you friend would have read this he would piss on your foot. you dont buy a game fron a friend burn it the get 450% of what you paid for it back. You should at least give your friend back some extra copies of the games you burnt.

Thanks for the tips, defender, you are obviously a very powerful administrator for this site. By the way, how much did you pay for your Gamecubes guys?

I bought one for $200 before I became Walmart Scammer #1. This guys Gamecube deal could've been done for as little as $10 with the right two games.

EDIT: Defender, I have no beef with you, so you'd better not start one.

I think you got a great fucking deal.

I don't give a shit if you back copied your games...your being a cheap ass and that's what this site is for...good for you.
