UPDATE: The game is no longer free.

Download Portal for FREE!

Watch the Aperture Science recruitment video on YouTube.

Not only is Steam (a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation) available on both PC and Mac, but you can (for a limited time of course) download Portal for FREE!

NOTES:
- You only have until May 24, 2010.
- Only the PC/Mac version is free.
- You must have a Steam account and the Steam application installed to download the game, however, you can play it offline.

For those of you who don't know, Portal is the same game found in The Orange Box and on Xbox LIVE Arcade under the name Portal: Still Alive.

For more information, see the Wikipedia articles on Portal, The Orange Box, Steam, and Valve Corporation.

And don't forget to read about the upcoming sequel, Portal 2. More information is to come during E3.

P.S. The game (including the Steam service) is available in other countries, NOT just Canada. I don't know why the original topic was moved, but it belongs here.

By the way, if you just start the download, it's permanently tied to your account and you can re-download it forever.
