Only concern is saving my 20gb's data BEFORE the trade. System+20gb+ extra wireless controller nets me $155 toward it...not bad. Also, I have another 360(core) that we had in storage..anyone know if you can trade multiple systems per trade or just the one?

I think you can trade as much or many as you want, to my knowledge Gamestop doesn't discriminate for trades.

I have a 20GB and a 250GB HD. How would I go about trading it in without losing my information??

The 2 gamestops I called this morning both said you don't have to trade in your HD, unless you want extra trade value.

I transferred all data from my 20Gb to my 16Gb flash drive last night in prep. A 20Gb drive only gives you 14GB usable anyways.

So if I have 2 consoles and 2 controllers I can trade them in for $200 (without my HDD)? Will I be able to transfer the data from my HDD to the new one or does that need to be hooked up to a console as well?

Anybody know if I can just transfer all my data from the HD directly from Gamestop? Do they offer such a service?

No, you dont need a console for your old HDD to transfer.

Most of you are going to have to trade in just the console and keep your hard drive until you transfer the data and then trade the hard drive in. Of course this means you need an additional $40 in cash but unless you do some crazy return/rebuy stuff this really is the only way.

Except you only get these TIVs when you do so when purchasing the 360 Slim... Sooo, probably won't be able to swing that.

Ok this works out in my favor. I have an Elite ($100) + wireless controller ($25) + 2 20GB hard drives ($60) + wireless adapter ($40) + wireless n adapter ($50) which comes out to $275 trade in value. That makes the new 360 $25 before taxes AND I get to keep my 120GB hard drive on top of it. Awesome stuff right there...

I think I'll be making a trip to GS tonight or tomorrow morning! :D

Don't forget the memory cards, decent TIV on those toward a new Xbox. They are practically worthless now anyways since a $5 to $10 USB drive you probably already have most likely would replace more than the memory space on any cards you might have.

If you have enough friends and family with older Xboxes, you could make out like a bandit if you could pick up a bunch of memory cards.

Almost all of these questions have been asked and answered in the GameStop TIV & Promo thread. More details on getting the $40 store credit for the hard drive after the purchase of a slim as well. Basically bring your slim purchase receipt in within 7 days of purchase and trade-in the hard drive and you will be able to get the value.

Why would you keep the wireless-N adapter knowing that the Slim has it built in? Wouldn't you be better served using that adapter for some extra TIV to defray the final cost?

It should be noted that you can not trade in your system unless they have the new Xbox 360 Slim hardware on the premises.

This deal is scheduled to run through 7/11 ... Most of the GS's I called said they were only expecting to get 3-4 units with this initial delivery.

Anyone know if they accept generic or third party controllers with the console trade-in?

the value ratio is lower on trading in a 250gb/120gb hard drive versus 20gb and the N adapter versus the older one.

At a guess, I'd say he had use for the 120 gb and the N adapter for his second Xbox in his house or similar.

If I did this deal, I'd trade in 20gb and keep my 250gb to move over to my 2nd Xbox to replace said 20gb hd. You get "enough" for the 20gb trade in, but not "enough" for the 250gb trade in.

Hey guys I just have a question. I'm currently connected to Xbox Live through a wireless connection with my wirless adapter. So if I trade in the adapter for credit will I be able to use this new 360's wifi to connect to my internet connection? Or do I still need the thing. I guess I'm asking is the built in wi-fi the same as my adapter?

the new xbox doesn't support 5 ghz n, only 2.4. so it's different from the adapter in that respect, depends which channel you use.

Do you know how to add ? The prices for what you get are listed in original gamestop thread.

Maybe, but I'm a pack rat with stuff like this. Never know when you'll need it again, ya know? Like what if the internal wireless adapter on the new 360 goes out? Yes, I'm weird. And yes, I'll probably end up trading it in anyways.
