Cavs owner views LeBron as a "runaway slave" according to Jesse Jackson

Not to get on a bit of a racist side but LeBron is black... It's a little touchy to call someone black a slave...

Those are the words Jesse Jackson used. Jesse Jackson is black. Does that make it more or less appropriate?

Idiotic rant, with no reason to play the race card.

And that's coming from someone that thinks Gilbert is a huge douchebag for blasting a player for switching teams. If he wanted to keep him, maybe he should have put better talent around him the 7 years he was there, rather than a vastly overrated point guard (Williams) and fossils (Shaq, Jamison).

Lebron James is a top-tier basketball player looking out for his own self-interests. Dan Gilbert is a businessman pissed off that his gravy train bolted.

Jesse Jackson inexplicably pulled the race card out in a clear case of sour grapes in business. He wouldn't have even touched this if a black man wasn't involved. This is why racial equality will never be possible.

Why so? It's been my favorite sport for as long as I can remember.

I do prefer college basketball to the NBA, though I watch both a lot.

I have the answer.

If a team wins a game then that teams players get paid, if they lose then they dont get paid and that portion of their seasonal income goes to the states public school system.

Do that and maybe pro ball wont be like watching a bunch of old ladies wait for a bus, will put some effort back in their asses and cut out the boring ass showboats like lebron or kobe.

Last I checked slaves weren't paid well over ten million dollars a year. Maybe I'm not taking inflation into account?

The Democratic Party has Jesse Jackson
The Republican Party has Sarah Palin

Can you imagine if those two got together and had a baby? It would be the dumbest kid in the world.

I wholly disagree with Jackson's assessment of the situation.

I also want to be perfectly clear that I would never put myself in the same category as the bulk of you, who are those who react to the messenger and not the actual context - that is, the people who pan anything Jesse Jackson says precisely because it was said by Jesse Jackson. Like, you're the kind of person who would pause and think about it if you were asked whether or not you agreed with Jesse Jackson stating "oranges are orange." Don't you dare think I'm not talking about you.

Jesse Jackson
Glenn Beck
Sean Hannity
Sarah Palin
Bill Maher
Uncle Bob
Rush Limbaugh

What do these folks have in common as it relates to Vs?

Jesse Jackson is a pretty good guest on democracy now, at least as much as I've seen him on there. He seems to get carried away a lot though, outside of that, and this is one of those cases. Until he has a show paying him millions to say stupid shit on TV and/or radio I wouldn't really put him in the same category as Beck, etc. though.
