Finding a good laptop!

DM7000

CAGiversary!
So I'm leaving for college in about 2 months and I need to buy a laptop since most likely I won't take my desktop all the way to college. So with that in mind I'm trying to look for a good laptop that can satisfy my gaming as well as my education needs. Unfortunately....I have absolutely no clue what to look for.

So I was hoping that all you wonderful people at CAG would have some insight into what laptops are good deals for the price i'd be paying.

Here is the basic breakdown of what i need:
-Budget: ~800. This can be pushed a little higher but it needs to be justifiable
-Needs to be able to run games, the one's I play most are TF2 and WoW so nothing extremely graphics heavy but it'd be nice if I could run Crysis in pretty high settings as well.
-DVD Burner/Reader is a must although I don't expect this to be a problem. Blu Ray Drive would be nice but obviously if it's that or better hardware elsewhere i'll take the hardware.
-The bigger the hard drive the better.

If there is any other info that I can provide, say it and I'll try to post it quickly.

It'd be amazing if you guys could help me out on this :D

You can try this, it can play most games (new ones) easily I bet (mediumish) source games, max easily

You can change the HD/save $10/etc, or just look for a better laptop, my friend got a Asus something laptop at BB for $800ish + tax which was about $900 for a pretty good gaming laptop ( all games max except maybe crysis lol )

That laptop is meh, plus its HP, they love to die/overheat/explode/etc, I wouldn't say it's a deal at all

I would find more, but there' so many laptops you just need more details (thin, etc ) but I'm a bit busy D:
Do you know a good gaming laptop that is $600-$700?
Doesn't exist. You may find an ok laptop for gaming in that price range, but not a good one. You'll need to spend $800+ for a good gaming laptop.

This is my current gaming laptop that I picked up for $850 a while back on Amazon:

TF2 runs great.

If you plan on taking your laptop to classes, you should definitely consider battery life and whether you really want to carry around a 16-17" laptop all day.

Also, I raelly wanted to find something affordable with a blu-ray drive, but it's pretty difficult to find something within your price range with a BR drive, dedicated gpu, and nice processor. You could always pick up an external blu drive later

I've seen a cheap notebook blu-ray drive on ebay before, believe it was made by either LG or Samsung, in the high 60s to 80s range. I know for sure it would fit in the G50/51/60 series and may be compatible with that notebook too.
