I'm not sure the time frame of this sale, but it started Yesterday.

Both Mac and PC versions of The Sims 3 are $29.99. I think it's the best deal since the $20 off coupon in march

always buy physical copies from ea.com, the digital download is only for 1 year and even in that time there is a download limit. plus when you buy the physical copy, you can enter the key in the ea download manager for a digital copy as well.
 
I've downloaded through EADM after 1 year with no problems and I can't find any current info saying there's a download limit.

I'm pretty sure the 1 year thing was for a previous version of their downloader.
