Are there any good retailers online that carry bike shorts with decent prices or the occasional sale? I'm pretty lost when it comes to finding biking equipment, and the only place I've really found much is just on Amazon. I would think there's gotta be something else out there that doesn't just go by MSRP.

Well there's a lot of places I go to get my cycling gear. I check the local bike shops, a few times a year they have seasonal sales where you can get a good deal on stuff they are trying to push out. The websites I go to are...
worldcyclingproductions.com they also have some really good dvd sales. blueskycycling.com
wheelworld.com
primalwear.com
also check the manufacturers websites of your bike. They could also have some deals on gear and apparel.
If I think of anything else I'll post here.

Depending on your size and the style of shorts your wanting. I think i got an extra pair or two of bib shorts and trail shorts that don't fit me. They still got the tag on them, I got them on clearance and didn't get to return them in time. They are a bit big on me and doesn't fit anyone else I know.

I haven't actually checked any local bike shops, I wasn't sure if they ever really have sales on shorts. I'll have to check next time I'm in the area, and I'll try those websites too. Thanks for the quick replies!

Sadly if they're too big for you, there's a 99% chance they're gonna be too big for my 28" waist.

You might check out sports authority. I saw a bunch of their cycling gear on clearance the last time I was there, but I can't speak for the quality.

I ride a Specialized Allez Elite Compact 20 miles to work and so I have a clue what I'm talking about. Bonktown widget on my desktop in Windows 7 is a sweet way to quickly spend money. Second best is pricepoint and then jenson.
Hey I also ride a Allez Elite. It's a really nice bike isn't it? Might get Specialized for my next mountain bike, I got a Kona Kikapu at the moment. Glad you mentioned pricepoint. I forgot about them, even though I still order from them.

Just thought of another site is Evomo.com
Wow those are cheap... it doesn't look like they're padded though, which I probably should've mentioned is the whole reason I'm looking for bike shorts in the first place. My skinny tush :booty:(I'm 5'11 and 123lb) is getting sick and tired of me riding my bike to work and everywhere, just constantly sore and still not getting any better.
The pair of Quest shorts I got from Dick's are padded. Maybe you could call and verify if you're going to buy online.

I could look into that or even see if they have them in-store since the price is so nice, there's a few Dick's in my area.

I did actually end up getting a pair last night I saw on bonktown (like woot for biking stuff, who knew!) for $30. I always liked the ones that could also pass as regular shorts so that I could ride somewhere and not have to bring a change of clothes (but all the ones I found before were $60-80), and brown houndstooth is something I could definitely use more of in my life. I'll see how I like them and look into getting a different pair for backup at some point.
