Split Second $29.99 newegg.com
Thanks !
It is tempting !
I hear ya. This game has $14.99 - $19.99 written all over it. Although i've read that the developer is putting out some DLC and the first is supposed to be free.

Btw this sounds like a universal price drop. It's just dawned on me that this game released on May 18th and it's already $30 which is what held me back from buying it at full retail. I got burned with Sega Rally Revo and Pure.

Thanks OP I didn't see this thread, I replied in the one created after yours. Here's what I posted in the second thread:

I rented this game when it came out and its really fun. Sure the A.I. sucks but overall the presentation is really good, I enjoyed it better than Blur.

Thanks OP I've been waiting for a price drop to get this game.

It's an awesome game. The single player experience is really fun and very challenging. Online isn't that great unless you play through single player experience and unlock everything. But the races and player triggered destructions of the course are epic.

I loved Blur, and I'm interested in seeing if Split/Second is as fun and arcade-like. Though they were competitors, along with ModNation Racers, I just want to go where the fun is.

Personally, though, Blur's design is exquisite; I'm wondering if Split/Second can deliver the same kind of fun and quality.

Split/Second is awesome but you really have to complete the single player career to stand a chance online. The problem is I've hit a wall about 3/4 of the way through where I just cannot progress. The fact that all of your powerups are rendered useless once you are in first place makes for some very frustrating finishes, especially when one crash can be the difference between 1st and 8th later in the game. I would say rent it and unless you're a big racing fan, wait for another price drop.

My wife and I love this game on our projector screen. Looks awesome. Definitely an adrenaline rush! Well worth the $50 we spent on it.

game is great. Picked it up for $37 at target month or so ago, finished it 1st place on all tracks, resold to amazon for like $20. Def worth buying.

If Amazon price matches, I'm in. I played the heck out of the demo and loved it. I knee it would drop sooner than later though. No problem with supporting the dev at $30 though even if it drops more.

This game is phenomenal. Would have had no problem paying $60 for it. Probably the best racing game I've played in the last 5 years. Slick, silly ass fun.

Picked it up for $30 back when GS screwed up and sold it for half price... I enjoyed the heck out of it. It's like "Death Race" without the blood the way it's presented. Online, though, you'll quickly get frustrated. There will only be 2 types of people in your room - newbs with rank 0 and old timers with rank 99... There is very little in between... It made it too frustrating to enjoy. I had much more fun in Blur's PS3 rooms, even though there are not many people.

Not to dissuade, but Split Second isn't getting a lot of multiplayer play online. The single player experince is OK to good, but not consistently great. If you had a group of pals to play with, it would be fun, but if you're buying it for the multiplayer, don't expect a lot of players.

I was really looking forward to Split Second. Played the demo and thought it was great. Me and my pals had nore "Holy !@#" moments then we'd had in a long time. But somehow, it just didn't... get better or something. I know that sounds weird, but it got old.

However Blur, the game I thought would not be as good as Split Second, is fun as hell. It's almost like Demon's Souls in it's unforgiving nature. You can go from 3rd to 10th in the blink of an eye. Getting juggled like your in a fighting game is even more frustrating when you're in a car.

Anyways, my 2 cents. Enjoy!

It will go even lower in the future. Both Blur and Splitt Second bombed in sales.

Though Blur was $10 not too long ago when Best Buy had it for $30 for Reward Zone Members and people were getting $20 coupons in their mail.

I might pick this up when Its $10.

I couldn't agree more. I was anticipating the game so much after I played the demo like 10-15 times with my girlfriend. i thought, man, this game is so much fun... and on one track no less! It has to be a great, long lasting game... But it flatout got boring, and I sold it while I could still make a slight profit off of it.
