Hi folks,

I, along with several other CAGers are preparing for the annual Extra Life 24-gaming marathon on October 16th, and I've rounded up lots and lots of giveaways should you be interested in donating through my page:



Here is how it will go:

For $1 you spend, you get 1 ENTRY into my raffle, and you actually get bonus entries if you spend more:

$5 will get you 6 entries
$10 will get you 12 entries
$20 will get you 25 entries
$50 will get you 75 entries

I estimate to have about 75 items to give away so if you spend $50, you could theoretically win all of these! After the end of the marathon, the raffle will be held through random.org, which will keep everything legitimate and transparent.

Good start, thanks! I should add that my marathon playlist will mostly comprise of games I'll be reviewing for Examiner.com and a number of them will be added to this raffle, which is why Vanquish is part of the list.

Its not free if you have to pay to enter it, as you do with raffles.

Besides people shouldnt give money to charities this way because they dont get all your money. If you really want to help an organization you should donate the money directly to them instead of going through a middle man. When you go through someone else not all your money make it because once the money is collected then everything is paid for and the rest goes to that orginzation. Even big charities that have things donated to sell still have to pay for marketing, limos, transportation, video crew, the auctioneer isnt working for free, lawyers, accountants and all that other stuff is paid for by the money made, then the leftovers are given to the charity.

Want to do the most good? Then give your money directly to the people that need it, not for others to give for you.

Actually sir, if you check out extra life website, and the guys who started it from sarcasticgamer.com, you would know there is no midlde man involved. Whichever Childrens Miracle Network Hospital he chose, gets the funds sent directly to them. !00%
 
I'll be uploading more raffle prize pics during the week. Yesterday I dropped by Natsume to pick up a review copy of the upcoming Lufia and take pics of the Extra Life raffle prizes that Natsume's VP will send out himself.

So it's been broken down to 2 sets of 3 horses and a set of 3 cats. The larger horse, which was a prototype, is just there for show as well as the giant animal display at the bottom.

Just donated $20. I was going to donate $10 being the cheapass I am but Vanquish is tempting.
Its nice since I think that $20 goes to my local hospital. So thats good too.

It is technically possible, yes though I'm sure I'll find a work around. I'd hate for someone to end up with 5 copies of Naughty Bear.

1) So how do you know how much we donated, is it if we donate through your link then you know or should we report here back in a post as well to help?
2) When's the last date to donate with entries going in? might need to donate on friday once the wallet's a little reloaded!
3) How do you get your tax credit donation? Is there a form we can print off...

1) great question. I am able to see the names of all my donors, so contacting you won't be a problem
2) I think Extra Life will stop taking donations at the end of the marathon, Sunday morning at 8AM (for me it's PST)
3) I will definitely get back to you on that tax credit.

The short answer is PROBABLY. Children’s Miracle Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All donors will receive a tax receipt.

After I donated the first time, I had a pretty lucky break elsewhere... I figured that must be a sign, so I just donated a bit more :D

Thanks for the support. Just passed the 200-game mark with contributions from Square Enix. I'll update the list shortly.
 
My review copy of Kirby came in. I'll add it to the marathon playlist. If I stream it, you'll get to hear my better half and I endure the whole game on co-op
 
Question I just got an email saying donations extended until Nov 14th or something but when exactly does the raffle go to? Tomorrow or today? If it goes for a bit longer I can put in a bit more money.
 
I donated 10 dollars. I know it's not much, but as a college student, unfortunately I can't donate as much as I'd like. I'll help with what I can though!
 
Just donated some more to round it up to $50. My chances are looking much slimmer now that you raised $800. Hopefully I didn't donate too late for it not to count. Thanks for the giveaway raffle thingy.
 
Just noticed you had a thread where you asked those who donated to you to make a post
I ended up giving you two donations Both under Smith
One for $20 & another for $50 for a total of $70

I was fortunate to have a couple friends offer to support my playing but since I couldn't they said to just include it with my donation

More of the aforementioned goodies. Shipping won't be a problem be cause A) many of the other prizes will be sent on from the respective company and B) One specific company has pledged a certain amount so I could take care of shipping.
