yeah it seems to be legit now. I'm always just sketchy when I see something like that. So what do you guys think about "others" in my house signing up for it with their emails? TOS is vague.

I signed up a hotmail account that wasnt registed with xbox, after i registered with it, it gave me some strange random gamertag......is that normal?

I changed my password just in case, this just seems phishy.

It's legit , Microsoft sent me an e-mail under my gamertag telling me to sign up for this news letter for 100 mspoints by clicking that link.
Doesn't work for me;-( keeps saying "it appears you found a glitch in the system"
I got that too when using Safari. Try FireFox and I bet it will work for ya.

Same goes for the MSP/XBL code redemption form -- seems to work better on FF than on Safari.

That is normal. It does that when you try to sign up with a Live account that has no gamertag (i.e. xbox.com account) associated with it.

If you want to avoid the 'random name' issue, sign up with Xbox Live (i.e. create your gamertag) before you sign up for this promo.

make sure you check ur email they send email verification link to make sure ur not a bot dont want u guys to not get ur 100msp

Additionally, if you really care about your new extra family member's new xbox account, you can change the 'random name' once for free in edit profile.

PS thanks OP!

I had 710 MSP and can't get the new Red Dead DLC . . . now I can !
TY ! !
Edit : I didn't recive the mail yet . . . maybe I was too late.

Uh... What? I didn't get any email verification for any of my accounts. But all of mine signups were for existing xbox live accounts. I assume you got this with a 'new' account? So, it was basically the Live account validation process?
I haven't gotten a email verification...anyone else?
I signed up quite a few xbox live accounts to get their news letter, and not a single verification.
