Looking for a reputable place to buy "video game art". Looking for decent quality stuff - something that you would bother to frame and hang on the wall, so not exactly poster quality.

I know of the lithographs available from Bioware and TakeTwo, so maybe something along those lines but for a wider selection of games(or other specific sites like Bioware).

Any suggestions are welcome, thanks. :D

Your best bet would be to call the company/art house of the games you're looking for. I'm sure they would have a number or site for you to purchase.

My friend told me of a site where you could buy original art works (ie...pencil sketches, etc) for comics and maybe some video game artists. I can get it from you if you're looking for something more.

Hey there Pookymesiter :D Not sure if you have a Blockbuster near you, but they sometimes sell framed video game art(Often not made of cheap poster paper). Might be worth a shot if you're looking for some mainstream video game art like Gears, Halo, etc.

I asked a similar question a few months ago. Still looking for answers on this as well. The last thing I tried was taking some hi res images with a good dpi to Fedex Kinkos for enlargement.
Interested in finding more about what their lamenations look like.

thanks for the posts. Initially i was trying to help someone with a b-day gift for me since they wanted an idea, but apparently they got me something already.

I might have to try out the hi-rez Kinkos idea though if I find something i like.

I don't think they were 'official' posters or anything, but at the one local flea market today the one stand had about a dozen mockups of the GTA IV coverart(front only) in a smaller poster size, as well as numerous other games and movies.

They were printed up on a tougher posterboard sort of paper to where it felt like they were almost imprinted on plastic sheets. Weird.

No one was around at the stand I saw them at so I couldn't ask about them, but they had a bunch of different ones(GTA IV cover, Gears Of War, etc).

Some were decent quality(GTA IV cover one, GOW one) and some just looked blurry and grainy, so you could tell they were a print someone made up on their own.

you can look into designers who make various "toys" like Tokidoki, Mori Chacks, etc. There isnt a lot and will cost a bit, but some of them are nice. I havent seen LOADS of them and not everything makes it past a shirt/hoodie/etc design, but that would be what I would look into.

Actually, if you're not only into framed stuff, I have a blue glass vase that I etched with a Halo screenshot. There's a pic in my TL if you'd like to take a look.

[quote name='admiralvic']hate to bump this, but I actually found an example of what I was talking about (its sorta hard since theres too many things to go though)

Bump all you want - still looking for stuff. That does look pretty neat. I was actually looking for a SF themed picture too. :)

Found a site with some high-resolution images I like that I need to figure out a way to print out and look nice.

And Mr Dude, that looks cool but I am mostly looking for things to fill out wall space in a media room.
