Randomly and wildly fluctuating number of pages on forums

I noticed on the PS3 board earlier that it said there were only FOUR pages of threads on that forum. Yet when I went to use the drop down menu to get back to the PS3 board after posting something in a thread there it said there were 120+ pages.

And here's one to the same page on the same forum, but now it says there's 127 pages of threads:

What could cause this?

Ahhh ok. I thought maybe the site was having issues. Thanks for explaining it Cheapy and Happy Thanksgiving(or whatever day after it is over in Japan).
