Don't know if this is a holiday price or if it's just on sale and might drop lower this weekend

EDIT:

Looks like the entire Sims series of games and expansions are 50% off right now so if you want some go get them lol

Except the Late Night pack which they're still taking preorders for so maybe it's not even out yet?

Agreed, I would have picked up if it were the physical copy.... man I'm getting old

thats a pretty good deal...tempting, is sims 3 fun for the hardcore gamer? or is it more like a cute little thing to fool around with for casual gamers?

Depends on how you think hardcore gamers get their fun vs casuals. Do you have to be super intense and focused, compete online against noobs, and do all your research about the game and watch videos and stuff? If you like this stuff, Sims 3 is not for you.

Can you customize a crap ton of stuff and spend hours on end managing the life of your virtual avatar and world at a leisurely pace? Yes, Sims 3 is for you.

From what I've read this is the "game"iest version ever with real goals to work towards that give the game some direction

why the hell isn't the mac version on sale! I hate downloading games to my windows 7 half of my macbook...

These "goals" are pop-ups and all up to you, if you want to follow them.
Following them usually nets you extra "points", which you can spend on extra "perks" for your character.

Yes, Sims 3 is the best of The Sims games so far.

Maybe it's time to give The Sims another shot. Haven't played since the first game probably...7 years ago? Whenever it was out. $15 isn't too bad.
Can you play the digital version with the physical version?
I'd like to know this, as well.
I own The Sims 3 PC from Retail.

The digital and physical should have no problems co-existing and working together. Just picked up Ambitions. Thanks OP.
