Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies DS $17 at Amazon FSSS

This has been up since midnight, but it definitely deserves its own thread. Oh and after I ordered it, Amazon sent me a nice little DQIX wallpaper. It looks pretty cool, especially for free!

Snagged Killzone 2 at 12:15 am PST, and I just got RDR and DQ9 right now. I was thinking of getting GOW:Collection, but I decided to pass for now. Think I'm done unless I can find a copy of NFS:HP when I go with the family to Target tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get my wife to get it for me as a Christmas present.
does anyone know if this game comes with the square enix registration code?
I'm not totally sure, but I would say no considering that Nintendo published DQIX outside of Japan. Although that does mean it should have a Club Nintendo code, so that's something!

Here's the list of eligible Square Enix titles, by the way:

Great game. If you're thinking about getting FF: 4 Heroes of Light or this game, then get Dragon Quest. I put in 100+ hours into it. 20 of those were spent in multiplayer.

Great info,

wished square update that incredibly out-of-date list though.

Finished watching an unboxing video and it does not come with the SE code but it did come with the nintendo code like you said ;)

If you have a DS and like JRPGs, get this game. A couple friends and I have played the crap out of it. Multiplayer is pretty cool, even though your main character can get a bit overleveled compared to your party if you join someone else's game.

Ordered two so my wife and I can play together (that and you only get one save slot a la pokemon iirc). Awesome deal, we've been waiting a long time to get this!

Thanks specialist, I bought one earlier and just picked up another copy. My 10 year old daughter really wants to play an rpg and this way we can play together.

How come when I click on these Amazon links, the prices aren't usually what they say they are here? Killzone 2 is now 27, this is now around 30 again...

Did Amazon run out of their own personal stock?

Amazon is constantly changing their prices, especially this week. It keeps people visiting their site constantly to catch the best deals.

It means they're claimed right now, some will be bought and some wont
The ones that wont will be back up at that price

Remember that this game will be around Monday too for 20 so Amazon can't sell them all now

Thanks for posting a thread about this game, so I can wake up and have it return to its orginal street date. Thanks alot for drawing attention to this sale so I do not get to benefit.

Try this link, it might get you what you want if it doesn't sell out:

This is pretty much the same thing I was going to post. Been playing my copy since release. The game-after-the-end is pretty robust.

I'm just not sure if I'm going to give it to my wife to play right away or restart this new copy several times so I can canvass guests to the inn in my copy. I love the canvassing feature, but never encountered others using it, both in this game and TWEWY. I hope the 3DS's integrated functionality for this type of feature (letting you canvass for players of all compatible games, not just the currently-inserted one) causes more people to use it. I just have to hope that more games don't start holding back features arbitrarily.

Buy this, be it for 17 today or 20 Monday. It's worth it at both prices.

A third option beyond the $17 today and $20 on Monday, is that Kmart will offer it for 50% off if you buy it with Golden Sun for the DS when it releases.

Yeah, it's $17.50 + tax and everything, but...

You guys know Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light is 16 bucks? Id think there would be more interest in the FF than the DQ.

Booo! Back to $34!

I actually was looking at it earlier at the $17.99 price, and I decided to wait until later...only to find it going back up. Lesson learned...never hesitate. Oh well, I'll just try to grab it Monday.

yeah i added this to my cart at $17 and went to check out the local shops around my area...when I got back it was $34. Oh well, picked up TWEWY instead.

People would be better off waiting for a sale on DQ. 4 Heroes of Light doesn't compare to it at all. Not to mention the multiplayer in FF is unbelievably restrictive.
