First a note: This is a new CAG Madden 11 league, however it is meant as a supplement rather than competition to the current Madden league. It is populated mostly by the same guys and will play by the same rules. We're simply starting a second league because A) we want to play more, and B) we want an opportunity to mix up who plays as what teams. That said, NEW PLAYERS ARE WELCOME! We will be starting from scratch and the only bearing the other league will have on this one is determining the order in which teams are picked.

MADDEN 11 LEAGUE RULES:
1) PLAY FAIR AND HAVE FUN
2) NO FREE AGENT PICKUPS ALLOWED (See below)

RULES: Just a brief clarification on the "rules." By play fair, we mean that you play the game like a NFL coach would. That should be self explanatory. No going for it on 4th and long in your territory. No onside kicks in the first half when you're up. Just don't be a jerk. Also, there are a lot of disconnects in Madden and it is frustrating. If you disconnect with a lead, under no circumstances are you to count the game without the permission of your opponent or the Commissioner. Close games which disconnect should always be replayed, as much as that sucks. And of course, have fun.

Free agent and trade rules
Free Agents- 1. We will follow the same FA pick-up rules as the other league. We will have appointed times during the season where FA pick-ups are allowed on a draft-like basis. Ask for more info on this.


Trades- 1. Trades are allowed up until in-game week 8. All trades must be approved by the league and the commissioner. Trading picks is allowed.

3) We will be picking teams based on a TBA formula, but generally speaking those owners who have been less successful in the main league will pick first.
IF YOU WANT TO JOIN:
1) YOU MUST BE WILLING TO PLAY A GAME AROUND EVERY 3 DAYS. IF YOU ARE BUSY, JUST DON'T JOIN!
2) There will be a 3 strikes policy. 3 unplayed games = OUT
3) If there is anybody from last season who left from RROD/other system failures, you are welcome to come back!

Season 1 and 2, I was the Buffalo Bills. I believe I was 5-11 in Season 1, currently 5-6 in season 2. Probably 5-8 after my next two games ;_;

We're definitely decided on that. Whether or not we're drafting players as well is still an open question, but I believe the consensus is no (Zurezo seemed to be the only one emphatically in favor of it).

So, my idea for deciding team draft order would be taking the last power rankings from last year, adding those records with the current records and using PF-PA for this current season as the tie breaker. The last power rankings were incomplete though so maybe we could just assign a 4-7 or 3-8 record to those remaining bottom teams.

That was my inclination as well. Any other ideas?

I know my overall record from last season. Does anyone else know theirs?

ubernes - Can you post the link to whatever post had the most recent records from last season when you get a chance?
 
What if we simmed a season in a league before we drafted our teams so we could have some player progression? Like we start our season on draft day before season two. Just throwing that idea out there for something different.

We did this last season in one of the leagues, but I don't really see the point of it... We'll be using the most current rosters, so the players ratings will reflect the most recent info.
 
Hmm, that was really the last one? I guess if I go off of those and combine them with this seasons records, we have about a season worth of games to go on.

Damn, I desperately want to join, I'll be home on the 11th or 12th of December, and I'll almost certainly be bringing an Xbox back with me, but I'm not 100% sure....since I used to run the Madden leagues and all, maybe you could put me down for a "maybe"? I'd love to play with any team!
Edit: I haven't played since I left in September and can't WAIT to get back to Madden, I've drowned over 50 hours in the old NFL Head Coach for PC since its all I can play thats NFL related...
 
I think that's 19 of us so far, including Azu. Let's try to get to at least 25 or so before we start picking teams, I think there's probably still a few guys in the other league who will join up.
 
I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but everyone edit your sign-up posts to include what team you are in the other league, as well as what team you were in season 1. If you weren't in the league season 1, only this season will count towards determining the order.
 
I know some of you know your final records from last year (I know mine too) but unless we got ALL of them, we're going to have to go by the last place we for sure have it written down, which is those Week 13 power rankings. I know it's not ideal, but oh well.

Edit: Just realized that rankings doesn't include the records for all the bottom teams, so we are going to have to try to remember the S1 records... Everyone post that info too if you have it.

Okay, these are the people I'm relatively sure weren't in the league in Season 1 (correct me if I'm wrong): Superstar, Silentghost, Azu (in neither season obviously). I plugged in 8-8 records for the seasons people didn't participate.


I need final season 1 records for:
