You may not like GameStop all too much, but pre-orders for the 3DS have begun.
I didn't know where to post this, and if it has been posted already, so I just did so here.

The pre-order minimum price-point seems to be varying from $25-$50 per store, but overall it'll probably be $50.
They'll tell you they're not taking pre-orders, but have them type the 3DS sku of "020132"
It'll pop up.

IMO taking preorders when they don't even have a set price for the system yet=FAIL.

Eh, I'll wait for more official news and employee awareness.

I have to agree with the whole "why take preorders when you don't know the price" thing.

Then again, who knows. Maybe GameStop got told something we didn't. Or they could just be looking to cash in on all the people that have placed a pre-order, then see the pricetag and go "hell no" and then don't cancel the pre-order.

It has nothing to do with the price. Putting down money for pre-orders is like giving them interest free loan.
