Use Anime Liquidations for small orders

Use BuyRiteDVD for Orders over $100

For those that don't know Anime Liquidations also known as BuyRiteDVDis getting new stock of anime.

Anime Liquidations is their single purchase website. Meant for smaller purchases. Because of this their prices are slightly more expensive than Buy Rite DVD. At Buy Rite you need to spend at least $100 bucks and I think they're having a special where if you spend $150 you get free shipping.

They've recently posted at Animeondvd.com that they''re getting new items. I don't know the prices for these items. It'll usually range from $5 to $10 for individual discs and $10-$20 for boxed sets. The following titles have not been updated but expect them in any day now.

So, uh, are any of these animes good? I've always been half-interested in the stuff, sometimes catching it on Cartoon Network. One episode of Trigun which I guess explained the history of the story and characters was just brilliant and fascinating. And I liked the Witch Hunter Robin series, the paranormal/psionic aspect is right up my alley.

So, uh, any recommendations?
 
Well, on this list...

I would get HEat Guy J 1-3 in the box set for $20 at Best Buy.
Then order 4-7 from Animeliquidations. You'll probably like that.
 
This might finally be my chance to pickup up the Tenchi In Tokyo series. This was never released as a boxset, was it? I know that Tenchi Universe and the OVA were.
 
Anyone who hasn't seen Lain should DEFINITELY check it out. It's my second favorite series, after the incomparable Cowboy Bebop. It also has one of the catchiest theme songs of any anime I've watched.

The only complete box is the wanderes TV set for $30ish.

I ended up finishing off Master keaton for $60ish. L/R 2-4 for $27. All of Someday's Dreamers for $28. All of Haibane for $32, GAd Guard 1, 2 for $22. Ai Yori Aoshi 4 and 5 for $14. Also LAst Exile 1 + box for $10.
 
I know it's not true wholesale but you will be hard press to find the american releases of these for a better price. You could always get bootlegs for cheaper off Ebay but you might as well just download them and save all your money if you're willing to go that route anyway.

You may do bettger on Trigun somewhere else like Ebay. I wouldn't buy it at BRDVD. But the you could geg the entire tenchi univers, OVA's 1-3, complete Tokyo, and Movie 1 for around $125 including shipping. You would be hard pressed to do better and not have bootlegs.
 
Hey Ackbar, when I went to pay (I caved in), I chose Paypal as a payment option. Underneath that it asks for card number and the 3-digit CC number, etc. So I thought if I hit submit that it would just take me to Paypal and have me send information there, but it didn't.

Did I do something wrong? Should I e-mail them? Any ideas?
 
I ended up just buying somedays dreamer vol. 2 & 3 just to finish off the series. I was really tempted to finish off heat guy j but i didnt have the $40 :(
 
I caved and bought Tenchi in Tokyo and Tenchi Universe. To top $100, I tacked on Zeiram II since I'm a fan of Iria. Has anyone actually seen this? :lol:

Thanks, Admiral. This really is a good deal depending on what you buy. This isn't my first time ordering from BR. Two friends and I ordered a bunch of DVDs from here about a year ago, and it worked out great since we obviously didn't have to spend $100 by ourselves. If any of you can't top $100 and have friends who are into anime (or porn :wink:), I would recommend asking if they want to share an order.
 
Glad to see this deal is finally getting some attention. I dropped over $100 yesterday afternoon on Heat Guy J, Haibane Renmei, Someday's Dreamers, and Dual. Killer prices.

I figure if Master Keaton is still in stock within a month or so, I'll pick that one up too. I have implicit trust in Naoki Urasawa after Monster.

Well, I ordered Mahoromatic Vol. 2 and 3 Automatic Maiden. I hope that this company is reliable and that the DVDs do come factory sealed and such. If everything works out then I may order more from them. Thanks again for the anime DVD deals, Admiral Ackbar.
 
I bought Haibane Renmei 1-4 and chobits vol. 2; I wished they had the complete series. Tho, I have pay off some student loans.
 
Got my order today everything I ordered no problems. Although Tenchi in Tokyo vol 3 was Signature Series(says so on the page but would have ordered it anyways) instead of standard like the rest but no biggie. Now i just need to find Tenchi OVA vol 4 cheap and empty boxes for the other two sets and I'd be set.
 
geez, some sale of new items in stock, thats literally EVERYTHING in the store.

what did they have in stock before the sale started? one dvd of Beyblade?
 
I got my order a few days ago as well. I was freaking out for a second because one of the DVDs I ordered wasn't in the package, but apparently they were just OOS since I wasn't charged for it. It was Zeiram II.
 
Dang, I go away for a month and come back to find THIS! Tenchi alone would take me past the $100 minimum. It hurts so good...

yeah, thats why i'm afraid to order a series, because if one volume is missing, tracking it down for near retail, i may as well have gotten a boxed set, you know?

True. I actually didn't buy one of the Tenchi in Tokyo DVDs because it was the only Signature Series version, therefore it wouldn't have fit in with the others. I checked eBay beforehand, though, and I think I should have no problem finding it on the cheap. Zeiram II is still not marked as OOS on their site, so I would call/e-mail them if you're concerned about this.

they actually ended up calling *me* today, and while i had them on the phone, i inquired about anime liquidators, or whatever the other site is called. looks like that one is harder to maintain for them and they will likely kill it soon. also, the stock is way off there, so your best bet is calling ahead. they seem really nice and helpful.

while i had the guy on the line, i asked about the real bout boxed set, and he told me they were out of boxed versions, but he would be willing to give me the 4 single discs for $6 each, so it ended up being 24 bucks instead of 30, and he even tacked it onto my buyrite order, so free shipping!

sadly, they were out of Sakura Wars Movie LE. that would have completed my collection with the OVA and TV series discs I already have.
