Use Walmart giftcard to buy Visa Card

I have a decent chunk of credit for Walmart, but I really want to buy the Philips O'Neill Stretch headphones which are not available there. I am in college and am quite poor so extra cash is not just sitting around haha. It seems extremely stupid and I do not see why this would even be possible but I could not find the answer anywhere on their website.

Is there any way to use my Walmart credit to purchase a giftcard for another retailer at the store, or perhaps a Visa Giftcard?

This is actually a very good question.

Most of the time you can't use gift cards to buy gift cards, but maybe at Walmart they won't care.

I've tried it before and was shot down. Walmart giftcards can be used to buy (I think) retailer cards, but not flat-out "money cards." The system wouldn't even allow it, via override or any other option.

Bored? Too much money than you know what to do with? Why not check out my Amazon Storefront? If you see anything you want, send me a PM! Make an offer, either monetary or trade! Over 2000 items, and more added daily!

Na, I've tried this before. You can't even use your gift card to by a card for another retailer. You are stuck with it unless you can find someone willing to trade.

You can sell your gift card from Walmart and then do whatever with the money. Ebay or a place like Plastic Jungle if you don't want the hassle of Ebay. You won't get 100% of value, but you should get over 90% of it.

Well, here's what i did once whenever i had a few gift cards from returns, go in and buy something with it, then a few days later, return the item unopened claiming it was the wrong thing with receipt, they should give you cash, my walmart did.

I used to work in retail for a year and a half. Generally you cannot use a gift card to buy another gift card of any form. If you purchase something with the giftcard and try to return it, they normally will give you giftcard credit because it was the form of payment you used.

I just sold a ton of gift cards to them. Upon their receipt of the gift cards, I got my check in the mail in literally just a few days. They're legit, and I bet they wouldn't take too much off the top for a Wal-Mart gift card, and even less if you convert it to an Amazon gift card instead of getting cash.

This is the greatest thing ever. Certainly in the OTT at least.
