CAGiversary!
I purchased a white Dual Shock 3 controller from a site called fyygame.com. I ignored some pretty big red flags such as the package originating from Hong Kong. I was drawn in by their advertisements on SD front page (not going to make that mistake again). Their advertisement stated that they were selling DS3 for 22.99, so I decided to order one.
Lo and behold, I receive the controller and it has syncing issues. It does work with my 3.55 PS3, but the analog sticks are kinda stiff, the controller has trouble syncing with my PS3, and the back sticker reads "Sony Computer Enter_tainment", space included.
I paid with Paypal (wish I would have just used my Discover card), and I have now filed a claim for a refund. I'm open to shipping back the item, but I want the seller to pay for return shipping due to the nature of the return. I understand that dealing with Paypal is like playing craps, but is there anything else I can do to grease the wheels? I'm considering contacting Sony's Counterfeit Hotline and try having them put some pressure on Paypal.
Any advice would be helpful, and I hope that no other CAG is suckered into this. These counterfeits are becoming extremely sophisticated. This particular Dual Shock 3 came in what looks like official packaging, works well when synced with the PS3, and looks otherwise genuine outside of the misspelling on the sticker.
