160GB PS3 For $260

I am seriously tempted on buying this from a guy on Craigslist. He says its unopened in shrink wrap and I really have been trying to find a good price. Problem is a few things:

1) I am semi-busy to be playing it due to school/attempting at a social life.
2) I don't feel like dropping $260 since I haven't had a job for a while...will soon though.
3) Not much space in my room now that I noticed it, but that can be fixed by a bit of pre-spring cleaning.
4) Something I can't think of

While money isn't a big issue since I have some to spare, I haven't decided yet if I should. It is in my town which is literally safe...can just drive to the local market with cops in the parking lot patrolling...though it may seem as though a drug deal is going on #

The BIGGEST issue that I have right now is that I am scared that I will get this thing and then in a few weeks the price will drop by about $50 and have wicked deals by the time I DO get to play with out school stress looming overhead.

I have a 360 and plan on getting a 3DS...hopefully I can get my job back before then

The system comes shrink wrapped? Seems like a red flag to me, I can't think of a single system I've ever bought that came shrink wrapped. Games sure, but systems?

If you do buy it and it is shrinkwrapped, then I would have him open it in front of you since they don't normally come like that.

I'd say pass. You've already got a 360 so unless you're absolutely dying to play the SONY exclusives then it's not worth it. Save your money for the 3DS.

Well, Target has a $50 gift card with a PS3 purchase going on next week. Kmart has it going on this past week until tonight. You'd have to pay more up front, but you could use the card to buy a game or two

I will never buy something where I have to meet the person, but that is just me..

Since you have a 360 already.. it may be worth just saving the money for the 3DS, unless you really want to play God of War / Uncharted / Killzone / Resistance / etc.

U can get a new 160 gig for $250 @ BB by price matching one of the $50 gift card offers. Right now BB is offering the $50 GC so wait till Sun for another retailers offer to kick in. Also if there's $100 price drop w/i 30 days or 45 days if ur a RZ silver member BB will match it.

New PS3s aren't shrinkwrapped...

I wouldn't, I recently picked up a backwards compatible model for $180, seems like you could wait it out and find a much better deal.

Yeah I was thinking about a game I bought on Ebay earlier....it said shrink wrapped....but it isn't....my bad guys:

This is the guy who posted it, but yeah I suppose you are all right. The games I really really want are going to come out during upcoming holiday season or are unannounced for 2011.

Totally agree. Think you will hear a $50 drop announcement at E3 this year. Just wait. Having the 360 what are you missing? Uncharted? Killzone? They will still be there, and cheaper, 6 months from now. If you didn't have the 360, different story.
