Found this on another forum, and seen no mention of it, and figured I'd share it for those interested in this sort of thing.

http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=199aacc&Nao=0

It was originally found on slickdeals.

Anyways to get the discounted price you need the following code. 4COMRADS
The ottoman is originally $80 then when you apply the 20% off code it'll come out to $64.

Not sure if it's the EXACT ottoman but I work at Costco in Charleston, SC and we have a Rock Band Ottoman on clearance at $60 aswell. Had started at $80 I believe.

I'm not sure if they are the same ones. Havent really looked into gaming ottomans for myself yet. I just seen what the original price was before clearance, and it seems to be a steal.

It *looks* to be identical in size, materials, and everything else EXCEPT the art when you open it up. The Costco one had "Rock Band" over a black patterned background if I remember correctly, and the JC Penny one is the octopus skull thing with Rock Band written on it on a blue patterned background.

Can anyone attest to the quality of these things? I curious about this but was wonder what those in the know think. Seems like it would be kind of a pain to disassemble the drums to get them in it if they would even fit.

The costco one does not have the rock band badge on the outside, and the interior graphic is different.

The MSRP they list at JCP is FAKE.

I have one of these, my mom got it for me for Christmas. I love it. I have the ION Pro drum kit so I don't store my drums in there, but it has little straps under the lid for 2 guitars and lots of space at the bottom for all sorts of game crap. I would imagine the RB drums would fit just fine in it. It is very sturdy and I believe is intended to be used as the "throne" for drumming on the RB kit. It's great in my gaming room, I use it as a seat, foot stool, and storage. I even keep a couple extra blankets in it. Porn at the bottom, and no one knows. lol

For those who already own this, does it work for the Rock Band items from any system. Someone mentioned using it for their Wii and the pictures on the manufacturer's website shows it being used for the 360. I have the Beatles Rock Band equipment and I'd want to be sure the Hofner bass guitar and drums would fit in this box before buying. Anyone know?

Hopefully someone with an ottoman can elaborate!

I have this ottoman (from Costco) and The Beatles equipment and aside from having to remove the head from the Hofner bass (just the push of a button) everything fits just fine. I also have my Rock Band 3 keyboard inside and there's still plenty of room.

Just a word of warning, there is an odd aroma to this ottoman. It's not horrible, kinda like liquid smoke. I've only had it a couple of days and the smell is almost gone.
Are these still easily found at Costco? I'm interested in picking one up for the random game accessory stuff.
The Costco in Burnsville, MN has alot of these. Can't say it'll be the same in your area, but a quick phone call can answer that question for you.

Hm. Now that I hear what it can store I might buy one myself, even though I dont have, or play any of the rockband or guitar hero games. Personally I have a japanese xbox 360 console I dont keep hooked up due to usage being sparingly on it. I get plenty of use out of it, just not enough to keep it out, and hooked up.

Well, there are plenty of storage ottomans out there. I'm curious as to the build quality and durability of the product more than anything.

Anyone seen it in person?

I have the "Band Box" from Best Buy that I got last x-mas for $100 or so and love it. The build is really nice, it doesn't have stupid handles on the side, nor logo's of any sort, so its very inconspicuous. Plus, it has the metal arm to attach the drums to with the box open right there, no need to worry about the stand for the legs..I would only trust the Band Box or the one made by Level Up, they make good stuff too..

Well I ordered it. Figured I'd end up paying $100 for a nice storage ottoman anyway.

Damn that thing is nice...this is perfect, me and the wife were looking for a good ottoman to store some gaming stuff. Much thanks!

Sadly it's not in my area so I have to foot for shipping, ends up being $80 anyways, but that's still worth it. ;)
Why would anybody put their games in upside down like in the picture?
I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not.... but they're upside down because they don't want to advertise any specific game.

Looked at the pics on the manufacturer's site. It looks like you *must* disassemble the drum legs to store them. That's a bit of a deal-killer for my lazy self. Can any owners speak to the contrary? Even being able to leave the whole horizontal base intact would be good enough for me.

Hmm, didn't look this close at this thread because I didn't realize these were officially licensed and figured they were like most of the other gaming ottoman's I had seen. Corrected that mistake and got a couple of the Wii ones and one Rock Band one ordered. Thanks OP and others!

I first thought this would be a Rock Band knock-off with you playing musical styles that originated in the Ottoman Empire. I'm pretty underwhelmed.

Someboody mentioned in the reviews section at jcpenny.com that the Beatles Instruments do not fit in it because they are bigger...

And for the guy trying to find in store pick-up you have to go to "Edit your shipping address" and it is in there I believe. They do not make it that easy to find.....

Just wanted to say that I went to Costco here in Kansas City yesterday and the Costco version was $49.97 -- went ahead and picked it up. It fit my beatles hofner after I took the head off of it.
The RB logo on the outside is tacky IMO, I like the discrete Costco one better.
Mine came from JCpennys around December, and it doesn't have the plastic Rock Band logo at the bottom of it. It does have a flap handle that says "Rock Band" on it, but it looks pretty cool to me.

Alright everyone. I need feedback! Im debating if I should get the gaming stands. I don't have a PS3, but have a Xbox 360. This may sound dumb, but can I use this PS3 stand for the 360? I know it has a PS3 label on the bottom, dont care as long as I can fit my 360 on the bottom.

If not, I was thinking of the Wii stand at Toys R Us. I like the look, but can the Wii be on the top shelf? I prefer to have the games on the bottom shelf.
I was wondering, from the pic, is the bottom that holds the Wii a removeable shelf?

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4275708

Anyone that purchase either from JCP or Toys R Us know if these stands are easy to take off, if moving?

FYI- Bed Bath and Beyond has the stand on website for $10. Check the stores if in stock. They try to sell it to me for $5, but I didnt like the way it looked.

As for JCP ottoman, note: color is brown. I think the Costco ottoman is better then the JCP website.

I have the Wii stand from TRU, you gotta use the Wii on the bottom shelf...it's simply built that way and the bottom shelf has an open vent that the console goes over. It's decent, a glorified DVD stand really. It's supposed to resemble a Wii console, the xbox 360 version is ugly as sin because of that reason.

Yeah. I notice the vent. Is there a purpose for it? I dont think the vent works.
Is your Wii stand easy to remove if u were like moving?
The reason Im not not getting the 360 cause all 3 Toys R us dont have it.

the vented bottom is for the exhaust port located at the bottom of your Wii when it's standing in the upright position. Smart design really.

The Wii stand cannot be broken down, period. Once you put it together...that's how it will be until you decide to break it for disposal. There's even instructions on how to break it, to dispose of it should it come to that. This is because of the interlocking/snap together pieces.

It says black when you add it to cart.

it told me that promo code was expired when i tried to use it so after some trial and error and some internet diving i found another code that worked for like 15% off or something close to that and theres a store nearby i can pick it up at so i'm getting it shipped there.

Even for $74 this is a pretty good deal, my credit card exists for shit i find on this site.

FYI...I just picked up the Rock Band Ottoman (black version, CostCo SKU: 537404) at the Carlsbad CA CostCo for $39.97. They have had 3 more left on display, but may have more in back since, due to the large size, they could only fit 4 of them where they had them (next to the games near the front).

When I was looking around for this a week or two at nearby CostCo's in the SD area I didn't see any at this CostCo and saw one for $89.99 (CostCo on Morena) and $69.97 (CostCo on Friars, but only saw the display model). Glad I waited because $39.97 was impossible to pass on even though I don't know exactly where it will fit in my living room.

Yeah I went to Costco's this past weekend and they had it for $90... dang it. I want it for $40!
Is it possible they just haven't updated the price tag? Are Costco's drops YMMV or univeral?
