Hey guys, I need some help with the length of some PS2 games. If you've played through it, I'd appreciate it if you could give me an estimation of how long it will take for a first time playthrough :

PoP is about 10-12 hours your first play through.

Devil May Cry 10-15hrs

Devil May Cry takes me about 25 to 30 hours to finish (estimates). If you are skillful it should take you less time. It usally takes me longer to finish games.

I'm about a quarter or a third through Champions of Norrath and it took me about 10 to 15 hours estimated so the whole game should take me about 40 to 60 hours to finish.

I finished Beyond Good and Evil, 100%, in roughly 13 hours.

is there a website with game lengths. if not there needs to be one.

Hmm, perhaps I should start a thread about length of games, that way we can all plan the order to play our backlogs.

If anyone has any requests for length of games, post it here and I'll add it to the list.

As long as we're at it, anyone know how long Grandia is? It seems like it would be a 45-60 hour ordeal like Xenogears, but I don't actually know, for sure.

you should just edited your main post with updates of game lengths, maybe averages from different people. sounds time consuming though.

kingsdom hearts took me like 18 hours, but i just rushed through since i personally didnt like it. i beat it in like three days.

Kingdom Hearts took me around 28-30 hours to beat and POP took me around 7-8 hours.

EDIT: nachzeher, do you know how long it would take to beat Shadow Hearts: Covenant?

Way ahead of you there. It took me the times at the top, though I was taking my time in those. You could probably shave 5-7 hours off those.

Paper Mario takes about 30-40 hours, depending on what kind of side-quests you do. I suppose if you got every item, and completed every task you'd be up in the 40's no problem.

I think I've put ~45 hours into it, and it's quite possible that it will be an 80 hour game....hard to estimate though...

Legend of Dragoon is about 25-30 hours.

how about burnout 3 100%?

You can add an obvious one, Resident Evil 4 - 18-23.

Resident Evil (GCN) took me about 07:30 hours to beat. I know the original Resident Evil like the back of my hand thus the short time. But even newbies can finish it in less than 10 hours. So avg time around 8-9 hours. As for the others not a clue. I think I got DMC 2 done in about 20 hours, not sure though since i deleted the save a while back.

I played about 30 hrs and I was still on disc 1. So I'd say about 60-80 to complete the game. I have to go back and finish it when I get some vacation time from work. I was just about to collect my first summon when I stopped after going through all the trials.

Rygar about 6-8hrs short but great game

Killzone took about 15hrs the ending was disappointing too.
I did not even realize I finished it until the credits started to roll.

Can you PM me since I don't want to hi-jack the thread, how on earth do you do your Tech attacks. The sub menu says press the analog in a given direction then the attack button, I've been doing that and haven't been able to pull of any of my tech attacks. The only way I've been able to do them has been to set my character in auto mode and then selecting it in the battle menu. FYI i'm about 3 hours in, i'm at the desert ruins to get the first seal. Yeah and 60-80 hours seems right.

I put it here because at first I wanted an estimate on my PS2 games, but games from all platforms can be put into the list, no problem.

Have you ever played SSBmelee it is very similar to the way that game is set up. I have a problem doing Unison attacks, you'll get them later, because I always forget what order to do them in. I mainly stuck to using either Lloyd or Kratos because they are very similar and I do not like the delay when using spell casters.

Ninja Gaiden- ~20-25 depending on skill

KOTOR 1- 30-60 hours depending on how much you talk

33 hours and I was done with disc one... Haven't really played disc 2 yet.

Psi-ops took me like 5 hrs

MGS 3: 15-20 (depending on how much you listen to/watch, but there is mostly gameplay time figured in there)
Amplitude: upwards of 30-40 hours if you are going from never playing it to beating most of the hardest difficulty. If you just want to go through the very easiest level, you will probably only have to play each song once so maybe 2 hours or so.

Persona 2? Tactics Ogre?

Grandia took me about 65-70 hours with all side quests. I don't remember the exact time I beat it about 6 years ago.

Anyone knows how long it takes to finish these games?

The number of hours spent could be different if you rush through the game or did all the sidequests and it depends on your skills, speed and style. For Shadow Hearts 1 it took me about 80 hours and I finished all the side quests.

La Pucelle tactics took me 25 hours. I kinda rush to through it.

KOTOR II 60-80 hrs. My finish time was 84 hrs. But there were only about 7-8 quests that I didn't do. This was for a lightside character with strong force powers.

I'm also wondering about SMT: Noctrune and SO3. I'm about 15 hrs into SMT and 35 hrs. into SO3. I'm also about 20-22 hrs. into Paper Mario but I just finished the third chapter. Man why did I have to start getting into RPG's? That damn Xenosaga!! Oh which BTW took me about 45-50 hrs. to finish. Nice topic OP.

I typed up this list of what I can remember. I included some stuff no one has asked about incase others might be interested. All the times were from me just playing normally unless otherwise stated. I didn't rush or use faqs for most of them. BTW, great thread idea. Game length is one of the more important factors to me. I almost wasted $50 on Max Payne 2 until I found out it was only 6 hours long.

Amplitude - 7/?
7 hours to beat Normal and unlock all bonus tracks (for normal only). It could takes weeks to get good enough to beat Insane level though.

Breath of Fire 4 - 30/?
30 hours without optional dungeon. Its been a while since I played this so I can't remember much.

Breath of Fire 5: Dragon Quarter - 25/40
My first playthrough took 25 hours. Second playthrough to get all extra stuff took about 15 hours. However, you have to use new game+ to access some of it so I just added the 2 times together.

Disgaea - 60/180+
50 -60 hours to complete the main storyline . 180 hours for me to get almost all extras.

Dragon Warrior 7 - 75/140+
I played through this without doing most of the extra stuff and it still took me 75 hours. My friend played this aiming for a complete game and got to 140 hours before his memory card died. This might be the biggest game I've ever seen.

Gradius V - 17/17
There were no secret collectables that I can recall. I put 17 hours since that is the point when you get unlimited lives. Even a monkey could beat it after that (yes it took me 17 hours to beat this game).

Front Mission 4 - ?/80
I got all secret items and maps. A big part of this game was spent setting up my wanzers.

Final Fantasy 7 - 40/80
It took me 80 hours to do all sidequests, level up to 99, and beat the 2 optional bosses. You should be able to shave off 5 - 10 hours if you know what your doing though.

Final Fantasy 8 - 40/?
I beat it in 40 hours but didn't bother doing most of the secret stuff.

Final Fantasy 9 - 35/42
This game was pretty linear and easy to beat. Afterwards I wasted alot of time leveling up only to beat the secret boss in 5 turns.

Final Fantasy 10 - 35/?
I had to force myself to finish this so I rushed at the end. If I hadn't lucked out and got that no-encounter weapon it probably would have taken 40 hours (if I had finished at all).

Phantom Brave - 40/?
I didn't enjoy this as much as Disgaea so rushed at the end too. From what I've read in other forums it would probably take 100 hours to get all the extra stuff. It is also possible to beat this in 3 hours if you exploit some cheat at the beginning (I think).

Katamari Damacy - 8/?
8 hours to beat but I just wanted to say there is tremendous replay value in this game.

Kingdom Hearts - ?/40
Took me 40 hours to get everything and beat Sephiroth. I did use Gamefaqs toward the end to find out how to get the best weapons.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant - ?/70
I used a faq for all the secret dungeons but not for the main storyline. I would guess it'll take 50-60 hours to beat without doing anything extra and playing unaided.

Suikoden 3 - 40/50
40 hours to beat. Another 5 - 10 hours to get all 108 characters and play sidequests.

Viewtiful Joe - 20/?
20 hours to finish adult setting. If you wanted to get all color V's in all difficulties it might double that time.

Zone of the Enders: 2nd Run - 13/?
Once you beat the game you have access to extra missions (like VR training in MG2). I didn't try them much but it seemed like you could add another 5 hours to beat all of them.

God of War on normal difficulty is about 10-12, depending on how fast you level up the Blades of Chaos.
