Rift Collector's Edition (retail box) $79.99 with $10 BBY Gift Card

That price is ridiculous. $80 for what, some ingame crap, a comic, soundtrack, and usb drive. For that I'm going to pay $30 extra?! Someone's been drinking the juju juice.
 
Link is not working for me. I am monitoring this game trying to figure out whether or not to pick it up. I couldnt stomach WoW again even with Cataclysm after quitting for a year or so, but I would not mind picking up an MMO again.

Checked out TotalBiscuits first look on youtube and it looks like a WoW clone but a little different in some areas and a lot darker without all the pop crap and offbeat humor that WoW has become. It looks like you can actually (gasp) die in Rift, not like what WoW has become.

Yet somehow that never stops WoW players from spending the extra $30 for those collectors editions. ;)

Same can be said for pretty much all "collectors editions" of games.
 
This CE edition is probably one of the finest I have ever bought (and I have bought many...). The box itself is impressive (huge hardcover book like that opens up in the middle). The comic book is 128 pages long and was actually done by DC (5 issues put together). The 8gb usb drive cost on average 20 dollars alone. Throw in a soundtrack cd (which is great btw), poster, and some very beneficial ingame items that are not just cosmetics.

True that if your not a rift fan, it may seem ridiculous to pay 80 dollars for an mmo, but this is targeted TO the fans which I myself prize highly.
 
I'd say wait a while, this one will drop soon enough.. I have been thinking of playing Rift but with DA2 coming I won't have time for it..plus its BB, you have to pay taxes..for me 10 GC - $8 tax = only $2 savings..
